Hate only leads to pain, separation, disrespect, selfishness, violence and contempt. If we don't change our direction soon our future generations are going to suffer tremendously. Diversity gives one the ability to understand, have compassion, want to help, have the will to work together, believe in equality for all and embrace our differences. We desperately need education for all, the continuation of the arts, caring for one another no matter who, giving everyone the opportunity to make a decent living and to give everyone the opportunity of healthcare! It is time to think sincerely about what is happening in our world today!

Why couldn't we give peace a chance? This 60's symbol of peace had so much hope back in the day, but much like this warped and tarnished symbol, peace remains illusive. It may be easier for many people to hate rather than to love, but I have seen the power of love, of faith, of forgiveness, and reconciliation enough times to know that peace is the better choice.

I hate bananas !! Not surprising really as back in 1974 I spent about 6 to 7 weeks working in Scotland at Dalwhinnie working on a survey in preparation of the A9 by-pass of Dalwhinnie . We worked as a pair myself and another surveyor and our task was to check levels for I can't remember miles up and down in the wilds of the Highlands . The scenery was amazing and the bed & breakfast in the local post office come general stores was very good - But , it was B&B only . There was a greasy spoon transport café at the other end of the village and one visit was enough to know it would be the last !! The Loch Erict Hotel near to the digs was very nice but the meals were way beyond our subsistence allowance so a sandwich was as much as we had in the evening and for lunchtime it was Scotch Pie , Mars Bar , a Lucozade and BANANAS !! After that day after day I did not want to see another banana ever again , but seeing this display in the local little supermarket - it all came flooding back !!
One thing stands out , on one day we were buzzed by whatever jet fighter the RAF were using back then , doing hedgehopping runs it came straight over our heads !! I saw it coming as I was looking through the telescope of the level but my colleague with his back to the oncoming low flying jet was taken very much by surprise !!
The job was spread over two sessions with a break in the middle - after the long eleven hour days and a lack proper food at the end of the last day of each session enough was enough !! We jumped in the car and drove home through the night !!
Twice we did that and not really something to be recommended - eleven hours work followed by eleven hours driving and back then the route was the A1 and across the Northumberland high ground over moorland I seem to remember it was fog fog and more fog -
playing a track I will always associate with that drive in the fog back then was " Ritual " from " Tales of Topographic Oceans "
They say there is a very fine line between love and hate, and while I don't actually "hate" this tree, I'm not crazy about it, either. My husband found it a couple of years ago when it was just a sprout that randomly appeared in one of the flower pots on our back deck and he planted it - right in the middle of the yard where it sticks out like a sore thumb. And... I don't remember what kind it is, but I don't like this particular kind of tree very much. At the time, it wasn't much more than a twig and it occurred to me that I could simply dig it up and blame it on the dogs, but I just couldn't do that! ; ))
I was taking pics of other things one morning recently and on the way back to the house I just happened to catch a glimpse of the way the morning light was shining on it so beautifully, so I took a quick snap of it. I have come to realize lately that, 'if anything should happen', this tree would instantly become a very precious and treasured 'tree' [memory], so why not learn to embrace it now?! : )

Flip faffery in Photoshop again; some people will probably hate this shot but it's been a bad day today and I've heard some horrible comments aimed at me so I've decided to do as I please! Hate the Bunny!
Almost two months ago Jerry tagged me for the 9 things plague.
1. I hate opening up the Pillsbury canisters of biscuits and dessert rolls. I can't stand how they pop!
2. When I was twelve I developed my first celebrity crush -- on Bill Pullman. *dies from the embarrassment of admitting that*
3. I resent how attention-hogging games like FF and WoW are, even though I know I should resent the people, and not the game.
4. I was considered obese when I was eleven, but that didn't stop me from winning second place in a mile bike race that summer. (And I did it again the summer after!)
5. My maiden last name is a horrible Polish one.
6. I have never been on an airplane.
7. Sometimes I miss Pittsburgh so bad that I cry.
8. I cry when I'm stressed or angry.
9. My contacts are monthly disposables, but I usually wear them for an extra 2-3 days.
