Shot for Macro Mondays theme. "Songs from your teens" I decided not to do a song but an album. "Pretty Hate Machine" by Nine Inch Nails. They came along (1990) at a time just before grunge but after new wave. They took synthesizer sounds in a completely different direction, an "Industrial" direction. Following in the foot steps of Montreal's "Skinny Puppy" and few others before them.
In my mind "Nine Inch Nails" defined my generations music before we even discovered them.

Ages ago, I got asked to have the honour of doing up a cover for JESUS HATES ZOMBIES, created by Stephen Lindsay, for his big arse ultimate collection of the book. Finally got around to doing it so here's a few in progress shots!
Here's the initial pencils...mostly...since I forgot to take a picture before I started the inks. Oops.

Life's too short to be pissed off all the time. It's just not worth it. Derek says it's always good to end a paper with a quote. He says someone else has already said it best. So if you can't top it, steal from them and go out strong. So I picked a guy I thought you'd like. 'We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. I SO wasn't going to use this as my PAD, and I may well take another shot later but to be honest, I'm full of cold, exhausted, and just want to curl up in front of mindless telly and drink hot chocolate once the kids are asleep!
Anyway, this is hate for the scavenger hunt. There's not much I hate in my day to day life, but filing pretty much fits the bill!

When moving from a Leica R6 film world to the digital domain, this was my introduction. Late you may think, yes it was, and it was only the cost and availability of decent film processing outlets that forced my hand.
The camera came with a Sony / Zeiss lens - within a short amount of time I hated everything about the system.
Some years later, I pulled the camera from a drawer and tested the Sigma 85mm Art Lens with it - wow.
Now it comes with me almost everywhere.

El telón de rosas color salmón y grandes flecos dorados que cubre el escenario, se abre para ver un espectáculo de Pina Bausch, Cafe Müller. Entre los espectadores, dos hombres están sentados juntos por casualidad, no se conocen. Son Benigno (un joven enfermero) y Marco (un escritor de cuarenta y pocos años). En el escenario, completamente lleno de sillas y mesas de madera, dos mujeres con los ojos cerrados y los brazos extendidos se mueven al compás de "The Fairy Queen" de Henry Purcell. La pieza provoca tal emoción que Marco rompe a llorar. Benigno puede ver el brillo de las lágrimas de su casual compañero, en la oscuridad del patio de butacas. Le gustaría decirle que a él también le emociona el espectáculo, pero no se atreve. Meses más tarde, los dos hombres vuelven a encontrarse en la Clínica "El Bosque", una clínica privada donde Benigno trabaja. Lydia, la novia de Marco, torera de profesión, ha sufrido una cogida y está en coma. Benigno justamente se ocupa del cuidado de otra mujer en coma, Alicia, una joven estudiante de ballet. Cuando Marco pasa junto a la puerta de la habitación de Alicia, Benigno no duda en abordarlo... Es el inicio de una intensa amistad... tan lineal como una montaña rusa. Durante el tiempo suspendido entre las paredes de la clínica, la vida de los cuatro personajes fluye en todas las direcciones, pasado, presente y futuro, arrastrando a los cuatro a un destino insospechado.
