I'll probably bore all of you to tears with this little family this summer.

Apologies in advance. I'm completely captivated.

Hatching eggs, in oystercatcher's nest.

Two babies hatched. I hope the other one makes it too.

I went to the Swetsville Zoo with Katherine last weekend, because she had never been there before. She really enjoyed it, it is rather an interesting place. Nothing new has been made for a little while. It was actually run by the son of the person who made the sculptures. Unfortunately, just 2 days before Katherine and I went there, the son died in a car accident. I wonder if the zoo will stay open???

Chick has turned 360 degrees whilst tapping and chewing away at shell. Once he's gone full circle, he can open the shell by pressing the bottom with his feet.

I'm a bit short on inspiration for this months assignment, but the first chicks always lift the heart at this time of year.
