The 1510 series was based on the 1975-1979 Simca-Chrysler 1307 / 1308 / 1309, which was designed by Roy Axe. This was a very modern looking car at that time.
The 1979 restyle brought us the 1510 hatchback. The 1980 4-door version was called Solara.
These two models were rebranded as Simca-Talbot after PSA had taken over Chrysler-Europe in late 1978.
In the UK this car was called Talbot Alpine.

Developed by Citroën with the help of the French State after the second oil crisis, the AX is released in 1986. The engineers complied to a simple set of requests: the new city car had to be easy to use, economical and inexpensive to produce and maintain. Intended to replace the aging 2CV and the failed Axel, it was Citroën’s second commercial success.
The AX that we present today is a TZX with the 1.1l engine. This version was one of the best equipped, intended for demanding customers. Its equipment includes velvet seats, a radio and central locking. Its performances and comfort make it still a perfectly capable car, even by today’s standards!

It's amazing what you can find when waiting in the countryside for the next train. Scouting the lake at Wrawby Junction for some interesting wildlife, I spotted something lurking in the depths. Not sure of the exact species; probably either Fordus Fiestii or the lesser spotted Nova Vauxhallus.

Still a significant number of this generation of Civic around, subjectively they far out number the surviving Escort/Astra/Golf of this era despite lower sales back in the day. This one is in a more unusual and quite attractive colour.
Time to update my diecast collection with some of the latest offerings from Oxford Diecast. Fiesta Mk 1 and VW Golf stand on their drives. In the early seventies most people still drove saloons.

The eighth-generation Honda Civic was produced, model years 2005-12. Four body styles were introduced throughout its production run, which are sedan, coupe, and both three-door and five-door hatchback. The hatchback versions formed the European-market Civic range, which received a different architecture, body design and smaller footprint, and solely produced in Swindon, United Kingdom.
The Swindon built European-market Civic (FK/FN) was offered as three and five-door hatchbacks. It has a different appearance and suspension setup compared to the sedan and coupe Civics. Designed by Toshiyuki Okumoto, the exterior of the European model more aggressively styled; the sweeping front arc is maintained and a perspex cover resembling a lamp cluster replaces the grille. The rear tail lights are also similarly styled. Triangular accents are found front and back, with triangular fog-lamps in front and dual triangle exhaust tips at the back. The rear glass is split into two levels, divided by a spoiler lip and the fuel filler cap is a race-inspired exposed metal effect cap. Mechanically, the European-market Civic differs from the sedan and coupe variants in that it uses a simpler torsion beam suspension system for the rear wheels compared to the double-wishbone system in the sedan and coupe, the more compact arrangement allows for a larger interior space, while reducing its length compared to its predecessor.
Euro Civics (hatchback) received a mild facelift for 2009. The main visual change is the new redesigned front grille which now features two open intakes. The Type S received a grille similar to the Type R, only without the red badge. The rear bumper was also replaced by a smooth single piece design from a honeycomb effect plastic trim, minor changes to the interior

My mom at age 20 and the car she learned how to drive with, my father's 1973 Pontiac Ventura hatchback. It had a Pontiac 350 V8 but very few options otherwise... (manual steering and brakes!)
A Datsun 210 hatchback - the most attractive body style 210/B310 in my opinion. At a car lot in Great Falls, Montana.
Caught this BYD prototype car again, this time parked on a suburban street in Brighton.
I'm assuming this is their new Dolphin hatchback based on what I have seen in the news from the automotive world.
It doesn't seem to be on any Australian registration. What is in the place of number plates, are a pair of photos of a Chinese number plate reading "B6601" placed on what looks to be a table or some sort of flat surface.
A larger and better cut photo of that same number plate can be seen affixed to the rear window.
As you may be able to tell, I don't photograph cars from China and that is because I do not have an interest in them. As for this one, I never see a prototype out on the road so, I definitely wanted to take it's photo no matter where it's coming from.
