In Yorùbá mythology, Shango (Xango, Shango), or Changó in Latin America, is perhaps the most popular Orisha; he is a Sky Father, god of thunder and the ancestor of the Yoruba. In the Lukumà (O lukumi = "my friend") religion of the Caribbean, Shango is considered to be the center point of the religion as he represents the Oyo people of West Africa. The Oyo Kingdom was sacked and pillaged and its residents brought in chains as slaves to the Caribbean and Brazil. All the major initiation ceremonies (as performed in Cuba, Puerto Rico and Venezuela for the last few hundred years) are based on the traditional Shango ceremony of Ancient Oyo. This ceremony survived the Middle Passage and is considered to be the most complete to have arrived on Western shores. This variation of the Yoruba initiation ceremony became the basis of all Orisha initiations in the West.

The energy given from this Deity of Thunder is also a major symbol of African resistance against an enslaving European culture. He rules the color red and white; his sacred number is 6; his symbol is the oshe (double-headed axe), which represents swift and balanced justice. He is owner of the Bata (3 double-headed drums) and of music in general, as well as the Art of Dance and Entertainment, represented here by the disco stage.

Sango, represented here as an inmate in contrast to his status as a figure of justice. The contrast presented represents the Heathen status the Haitian culture has been branded with by a predominantly Christian society. A label placed on the wine bottle reading "PROSPARITY;" The bottle, being brandished as a weapon, is meant to represent confidence amongst a prison society.

An additional label reading "HARM" is placed on the base of the figures neck (rear profile) representing measures an inmate must take to insure his or her safety.

The term Vodou (Vodu or Vudu in Benin; and Togo; also Vodon, Vodoun, Voudou, or other phonetically equivalent spellings. In Haiti; Vudu (an Ewe word, also used in the Dominican Republic) is by some individuals applied to the branches of a West African ancestral religious tradition. The word "Voodoo"' is used to describe the Afro-creole traditon of New Orleans, Vodou is used to describe the Haitian Vodou Tradition, while Vudon and Vodun and Vodoun are used to describe the deities honoured in the Brazilian Jeje (Ewe) nation of Candomble as well as West African Vodoun, and in the African diaspora. When the word "Vodou/Vodoun" is capitalized, it denotes the Religion proper. When the word is used in small caps, it denotes the actual deities honored in each respective tradition.

No bunnies were harmed in the making of this photo, but rather rescued from a cat. I finally got Socks to drop it, but the baby bunny was too scared to run away, so I picked it up by the ears so the kitty wouldn't attack it again and so I couldn't get bitten by it. Then my dad took it (as pictured here) so he could release it a safe distance away in the brush, away from kitty, and I snapped a photo. I guess when the bunny saw the lens, he thought I was trying to eat him, because he stuck his little bunny paws up to his face.

San Andrés de Teixido (Santo André de Teixido in Gallego and officially) is a village located in the parish of Régoa, at east of the municipality of Cedeira, in the Mountain range of A Capelada, near the cliffs over the sea. According to INE in 2007 it had 49 inhabitants (29 men and 20 women).

In this place is the sanctuary of the same name, famous place of peregrination.

The chapel of San Andrés is a famous sanctuary to where, according to the popular saying, vai de morto quen non foi de vivo (it goes of dead that not went of alive).

AGM-88 High-Speed Anti-Radiation Missile (HARM)

The AGM-88 HARM is currently the standard anti-radar missile in the U.S. inventory, completely replacing the earlier AGM-45 Shrike and AGM-78 Standard ARM. It is a tactical, air-to-surface missile designed to home in on electronic transmissions coming from ground-based anti-aircraft radar systems.

The AGM-88 can detect, attack, and destroy a radar antenna or transmitter with minimal aircrew input. It can discriminate a single target from a number of emitters in an area and has a terminal homing ability that provides a launch-and- leave capability for the carrier aircraft.

The missile is powered by a Thiokol low-smoke solid-fueled rocket motor and carries a 146 pound blast-fragmentation warhead.
