I am not one to load something twice. But, processing this was rough. Not that it was hard to do the processing, but it was because I wanted to create a mood. I wanted to create a "haunting" feel to the shoot. Like "Children of the corn" kind of scary...or maybe Austin Power scary...hmm.
But, what happen was once I added more color to this mono-tone (particularly purple) it gave it a warm and inviting feeling to the entire photo. Kind of like sitting in the field watching a beautiful sunset, drinking a margarita.
So, I went ahead and load them both and have yal vote for it. My head hurts when I have to make decisions. :P
The hardest in this Galaxy...
make sure you holler at me on instagram and my youtube channel for more!
I started a Christmas project this week - knitting some gnomes using my small knitting loom. The hardest part for me is deciding on color combinations using left over yarns. I actually bought the red yarn because I didn't have any, but otherwise I was able to use up some yarn.
Reenactors standing next to Hurricane AE977 at Biggin Hill on 18th August 2015, the 75th anniversary of the hardest day during the Battle of Britain. The Hurricane is in the markings of P2921, GZ*L as flown by the late Peter Brothers.
The hardest part to the shot was actually deciding on what level of contrast to settle on, really high contrast enhanced the bubbles around the photo but destroyed the detail in the centre of the shot whilst lowering it too much flattened out the image but gave some good detail in the "ring" of water. I'm happy with what I ended up with.
Oh.. and in this case the splash itself is onto a metal baking tray, just washing up after finished baking some ginger nuts. Got to have some "reward" for my efforts.. :o)
One of the hardest things in life is having words in your heart that you can't utter. ~James Earl Jones
Writing the words in my heart is one of the biggest struggles I have. I have many deep & tender feelings but, the words just don't seem to adequately describe them. Photography has been such a blessing. It helps show and in a way tell what my heart cannot express with words.
Thank you dear flickr friends for your kindness & friendship. You know who you are. ♥
The hardest part of photographing this butterfly was it was too darn friendly. My 100-400 lens is able to focus very close but it's useless at taking pictures of things sitting ON the lens. I would carefully remove it by letting it sit on my finger for a while. It would take off and then return to my lens. Finally, the two had a falling out and it landed on the gravel trail. Photographed in the Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge in western Wisconsin.
... comes after the hardest climb.

The Elbe Sandstone Mountains, also called the Elbe sandstone highlands is a mountain range straddling the border between the state of Saxony in southeastern Germany and the North Bohemian region of the Czech Republic, with about three-quarters of the area lying on the German side. The German part is also referred to as Saxon Switzerland. In both countries, the mountain range has been declared a national park. The name derives from the sandstone which was carved by erosion. The river Elbe breaks through the mountain range in a steep and narrow valley.
The Elbe Sandstone Mountains extend on both sides of the Elbe from the Saxon town of Pirna in the northwest toward Bohemian Děčín in the southeast. Their highest peak with 723 m (2,372 ft) is the Děčínský Sněžník in Bohemian Switzerland.
You try your hardest to perfect your explanations...
You lie until they've run out of questions
You can only move as fast as,
Who's in front of you,
And if you assume,
Just like them,
What good will it do,
So find out for yourself
So your ignorance,
Will stop bleeding through.
Only one thing
Big enough to fill the void thats inside of you
It's just a breath away.
You can breathe today
So many lies swirling,
All around you,
You're suffocating,
The empty shape in you,
Steals your breath,
You're suffocating.
Logic forces me to believe in this,
And I have learned to see,
And I can only say what I've seen and heard,
And only you can choose,
And every choice you make will effect you,
Suit your own self.
You can breathe today
So many lies swirling,
All around you,
You're suffocating,
The empty shape in you,
Steals your breath,
You're suffocating.
Breathe!!!
Big enough to fill the void that's inside of you,
It's just a breath away.
The hardest walk you could ever take
Is the walk you take from A to be to see
By 1985, I'd done the rounds of all the BR sheds, several times over and so I set off in pursuit of ex BR diesels in industry, which led to an interest in industrial diesels and industrial settings in general.
While seeking out those industrial diesels, I'd often find scenes like this at power stations. Locos I considered quite big, absolutely dwarfed by their surroundings.
Nice to recreate those late 1980s memories with Tinsley bling 56098 at Drax.
One of the hardest things I've had to accept was the fact that no matter what you do, your actions are going to affect someone. It's easy to say that everyone should be allowed to do whatever the hell they want as long as they don't hurt anyone, but that's never how it works nor will it ever work that way.
This photo is for those days I wish it weren't true. As much as I've loved not having to feel alone again, sometimes I can't help but want to run away from the people who love me anyway.

Please forgive my absence. I probably won't be on here till break again but I miss you all and I'll be back to commenting on your streams as soon as I can. <3
The hardest part about travel photography is you can do all the preparations but time and weather will always be against you.
We came up here wanting to take a twilight shot of the city but when we got up, the winds were howling and it started snowing. We waited for an hour to see if conditions would improve but it didn't. This was all that I could managed as we had to catch the timing for the cable car down to start our hunt for the auroras!
One of the hardest 2 hours shoot I have done in a long time. With the sea spray, wind and flying objects smashing into your face and lens, it's a wonder I got any shots at all!
On every single shot I had to clean the sea spray off the lens and then quickly cover the end of the lens until the very last moment, then expose the lens and take the shot.
We wanted to get closer to the action but the wind was pushing us around like a sumo wrestler. We had to keep our camera bags on our back as they would have blown away. So we played it safe from a distance and we still had problems standing upright. I ended up resting the camera on a rock for stability and despite all this, we had a great shoot as always.

"And the hardest part
Was letting go, not taking part
Was the hardest part...
I could feel it go down
Bittersweet, I could taste in my mouth
Silver lining the cloud
Oh and I
I wish that I could work it out
And the hardest part
Was letting go, not taking part
You really broke my heart
And I tried to sing
But I couldn’t think of anything
And that was the hardest part
I could feel it go down
You left the sweetest taste in my mouth
You're a silver lining the clouds
Oh and I
I wonder what it’s all about
Everything I know is wrong
Everything I do, it's just comes undone
And everything is torn apart"

The hardest trains to catch, other than during the summer, on the system are the overnight freights between Anchorage & Fairbanks. Once Fall rolls around their 8 PM departure from Anchorage gives you limited time to catch them during daylight. Seen here at Matanuska Junction at dusk.
I had the hardest time framing this one. Lots of elements to consider, and I didn't get them all in relationship to each other in the way I would have liked (intersecting objects, items too close to the edge of the frame, etc.) Would love to have shot this as a vertical, but client preferred landscape orientation for this one.
Frosted glass door out-of-frame to the right was letting in some fierce light. Not happy with how much is reflecting in the upper part of the backsplash on the left. It also wreaked havoc on the stainless fridge. Ugh. (That fridge just looks strange!) The lemons could have been pushed further from the camera, and a little to the right.
Ahhh, those white cupboards.... :-)
quite possibly the hardest shot to get in St Louis is a train using the south approach off the MacArthur bridge. Since the Manufacturers Railway went out of business and Union Pacific no longer runs anything this way its a hard move to get.

OMG THIS is the cutest thing in the world :D and She's Inspiring <3
I hate my ugly purple and green walls, it's like Barney, so I have covered my walls with maps completely and kinda thumb tacked places I would like to visit some day. This is what happens when your parents don't let you repaint your room.
Anyways I'm sick from allergies/exhaustion yet there's still not enough time to do nothing and rest. I have interact and homework, dance, family festival tickets, and the list goes on. At the same time I am going to be so busy this summer I am not looking forward to it. :\
One of the hardest quilts I ever made. And also the first one just for me. I've never made another pink quilt again. Amy Butler Ginger bliss fabrics, flea market fancy and several others. There are mistakes in here but I'm not ashamed of them. It was a lot of time and energy and tons of tedious work. I can't believe I finished it over two years ago.
Hardest act to photograph, mbv play in almost total darkness iluminated only by the ocasional strobe flash.
I was even trying to lead a mass protest by the rest of the photographers to start using flash!
mbv who were curating the All Tomorrow’s Parties Nightmare Before Christmas put together a near perfect line-up.
And how were they?
I was there.
I was there.
During a ten minute period around ‘Soon’, it felt like the roof lifted clean of my skull and I started levitating.
The memory will live me for a long time.
As probably will the tinnitus.
Got talking to Kevin Shields, but that’s a story for another day.

. . . While in Denali, I signed up for 4 hour private wildlife tour, and it poured the entire 4 hours! We did see the hardest working animals in the forest, however, the beavers!
This dam was probably 5 feet high and stretched well over 100 feet across this low spot to make a lake probably 50 yards long! I cannot think of another animal that changes the landscape so much just to stake a claim and make a home for themselves!
Have a great week Facebook, Flickr, and 500px friends!
“Where you used to be, there is a hole in the world, which I find myself constantly walking around in the daytime,
and falling in at night. I miss you like hell.”
And there we sit again in the dark, on the top step of the staircase with the blue carpet. Saying no word, because something bad might happen then. Holding hands, listening to the sounds from downstairs. You light up the new candle I brought. We’re staring at the big, round bowl with water. It splashes gently around a blue, fake crystal. We’re waiting for hours, no one stands up, we remain silent. People walking, talking, gesturing a few steps under our retreat. We can see their elongated shadows on the white wall which gets brighter every minute. We hear the raindrops on the roof above us. Birds begin chirping, we are angry. But none of us closes the skylight, everything has to be exactly like the other times before. We hear neighbours. They are slamming car doors, driving to work and their children to school. We’re thinking the same. How can they just get on with their life, when something terrible is happening here? But the world keeps going, the big, silver kitchen clock is ticking merciless on the first floor and our hearts are beating like there is no tomorrow.
We get sleepy after four hours, leaning against the white wooden door behind us, closing our eyes.
We hear the busses, which are crossing the street every twenty minutes. We’re counting them. We’re hearing dogs and their leashes with those annoying little bells. There is no dark spot anymore in our corridor. The rain is getting stronger and your mother comes up the stairs. We stop holding our hands. They’re cold as ice. She looks angry at us and shuts down the window. Then she pulls the plug out of the socket and the splashing stops. We keep hearing it. She’s looking at us a last time, before she’s rushing down the stairs again. No words. I’m looking to my left and see your tears. It makes me so sad. I grab for your hand. We’re waiting another four hours. And when the sun pushed the clouds out of her way, everything was over and we started breathing again.
I promised you that I’ll always be there.
Ich hab' dir versprochen, dass ich immer da sein werde.
This was a brand new summit for us. It took some figuring out when we encountered gates, and the hardest part was getting the darned things open. Also, we had to drive about a kilometre and a half on a very dodgy road. But it all paid off in the end with a great hike, and great scenics. We are still in the heatwave, but a breeze kept us cool and the summit, by virtue of its elevation, was cooler than the valley.

The hardest working guys in show biz, the music both played and orchestrated by the John Brothers Piano Company is infectious. Take a listen, and you'll soon find your hips swaying and a subconscious desire to jump around a bit.
Another Infrared shot, this time of a more regular location for me. Fort Baker view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Intentionally took it close to noon to get full sunlight. It was Ugly light, very haze, but the infrared cut through the haze well and got much more detail than I would have got with the regular cameras. Hardest part is since it initially comes out red on the playback, I have no idea what I have until I get home. But fun experimenting.

The hardest part of parenting is letting them choose their own path in life.
This is Mark, my oldest son who listens to everything I say, if I don’t talk too long.
The hardest thing about PADing for me is waking up each morning knowing you've got nothing. It doesn't matter how pleased you are with yesterday's efforts, you have to start from scratch each day. It's rare for me to have shot ideas lined up - so I often have this niggling anxiety about where the next shot is coming from.
So having someone bring an idea to me is a delight. This morning my parents turned up for their regular weekly visit with a bag of these beauties "I thought they might make a nice photo", said mum. Happy days!
The lighting was the hardest part of this shot. After much experimenting, I ended up using three lights, in an otherwise dark room: To illuminate the "splash", I used a small spotlight shining directly on the base of the glass. This did a great job of lighting up the bubbles, and keeping the rest of the beer dark. To illuminate the outline of the glass itself, I added two soft-box lights, one on either side of the glass. (Setup shown in comments.)
To take the shot, I poured the beer with my right hand, while triggering a shutter release (via a cable) with my left. Since the shape of the splash is mostly luck, I took several hundred shots over a couple of days in order to get a few that I liked. Phew.

It's been forever (well, a bit over a week) since my last conceptual shoot and it has literally been driving me crazy not to be doing any conceptual photos. So today my parents took me to this awesome spot and I got to shoot (thankyouthankyouthankyou yaaayy)
I wanted to go into the water but even for me, it was too cold for that haha!
Also, I have been showing my mom the wonders of Hyperbole and a Half for the past hour. Time veeryy weelllll spent.

The hardest part was getting out of East Sussex. Ice on the pavements, ice on the train tracks. Many trains cancelled.
I arrived at King's Cross in London about an hour after "my" train had left. The later train was beyond full. I had to stand until we reached York.
Nothing to complain about really. I arrived safe and sound.
Water Rails have been for me one of the hardest birds to get close to they are shy and aware birds that I have struggled to photograph if I have seen one for a moment it is often near dark and running . This one however was standing out in the open as I watched him and he posed from time to time for a photo although I could approach no closer as there was a fence in between us . These are some of my other Water Rail images

The two hardest-working men in Venice stand duty on a rooftop around the clock, and wear no pants. The 'Do Mori' (Two Moors) exposed to the elements atop the Torre dell'Orologio are made of bronze, and their bell-hammering mechanism runs like, well, clockwork. Below the Moors, Venice's gold-leafed 15th-century timepiece tracks lunar phases. The clockworks required constant upkeep by a live-in clockwatcher and his family until 1998. After a nine-year renovation, they are now in independent working order – 132-stroke chimes keep time in tune; moving barrels indicate minutes and hours on the world's first digital clock face (c 1753); and wooden statues of the three kings and angel emerge from side panels annually on Epiphany and the Feast of the Ascension.
I find the hardest part about posting images is naming them. It seems I don't possess the mental acuity to form words that create an interrelation that best represents my vision. My husband on the other hand is brilliant with words, quick-witted, and thought provoking. When I asked for help naming this piece he took a long look and yelled out "Mother Birches". I laughed so hard. Now Walter loves movies so I know he pulled that quote from a movie. For all you movie buffs out there I will give you a hint. Martin Lawrence and Will Smith. Name that movie! (Told ya he was thought provoking)!
“The most important things are the hardest to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them -- words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out. But it's more than that, isn't it? The most important things lie too close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while you were saying it. That's the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a teller but for want of an understanding ear.”

So I seem to be having the hardest time with lunch. Not because I eat bad or go over my points but it's simply that I get bored. There are only so many turkey or tuna sandwiches you can eat. And since I am home all day it seems to be my hardest meal.
So I caved this week and bought a bunch of the Smart Ones meals. I like to keep my lunches 5 points and under (my breakfast has been about 1-3 points per day, where dinner is my main meal so I like to allot my most points for dinner and a couple of healthy snacks during the day).
I can't tell you how incredibly delicious these meals are. Yesterday I had the Chicken with Sour Cream and Chive Mashed Potatoes and today was Shrimp Marinara with Fettucine.
Not only are they delicious but they are so filling. I am so shocked and amazed. And they are only $1.66 per meal! What a deal!
At any rate, I paired it today with 1 cup of grape tomatoes sprinkled with a little salt, pepper, garlic powder and basil. And 1/2 cup of grapes. I put the grapes away because I was so full..so all in all it was only a 3 point lunch!
And I am so full right now!
Oh yeah...and I did my weight tracking yesterday...and not only did I lose that nasty 1 pound I gained last week but I lost an additional 3.
Yesterday was one month on WW and I have lost 11 pounds!

It's by far the hardest thing I've ever done
To be so in love with you and so alone
Follow me where I go what I do and who I know
Make it part of you to be a part of me
Follow me up and down all the way and all around
Take my hand and say you'll follow me
It's long been on my mind
You know it's been a long, long time
I've tried to find the way that I can make you understand
The way I feel about you and just how much I need you
To be there where I can talk to you
When there's no one else around
Follow me where I go what I do and who I know
Make it part of you to be a part of me
Follow me up and down all the way and all around
Take my hand and say you'll follow me
You see I'd like to share my life with you
And show you things I've seen
Places that I'm going to places where I've been
To have you there beside me and never be alone
And all the time that you're with me
We will be at home
Follow me where I go what I do and who I know
Make it part of you to be a part of me
Follow me up and down all the way
Take my hand and I will follow you.
