Circuit diagram of the actual status of my ArnoSync prototype. No optimation is done yet to get a shorter shutterlag. In the future I will test several harddisk servo systems with different driver circuits.

This is an older hard-disk's controller board - I believed it would be about 25 years old, but after Muttnik's explanation it seems to be not all that old: most of the chips have a production-date code indicating 1990, one even 1992.
Back then, some types of parts were not yet possible to be integrated into chips, so they had to be placed separately. The really tiny parts sit on separate module boards.
It seems that it wasn't entirely assembled by robots - some human seems to have fixed something with extra wires and off-board connections.
The Nerd Bird Nest Box is finished and up against the wall, ready for its new inhabitants.

These Photos is over 10 years, maybe it were taken at 1995, coz that time i meet my wife and we were so young (Oh...dont make a mistake, its not the boy and girl in the photo :-).
I bought the camera cost me 300 yuan from the second hand market. Its my first medium format camera and later my friend lend it and gone...
These films and photos were gone too just as my youth, only the scan copy laying in my harddisk.

Due to the corruption of the image files in my harddisk, i decided to arrange all the pics in my computer thoroughly and do a backup. But i need tools to do this job with. I tried Picasa and Adobe Photoshop Album, and finally I have chosen Picasa.
What is good about Picasa is that the user interface is real smooth, even when u have 9.7G's of photos like me. For Adobe Photoshop Album, it gets real slow when u have a certain amount of photos in your harddisk.
Here are some little tips on how I arrange the photos:
1. First, install and start Picasa, so that Picasa will do a thorough scan on ALL the photos in your computer. It is very important for users (like me) who never clean out his photos and pictures, with all the image files scattered all around (You make uncheck folder that u don't want to be scanned by Picasa, e.g., system folders, program folders, and some other folders which contain images which are bundled with other documents).
2. When I have all the images files scanned, they are grouped according to the folders where they are in. Then I assign all the folders into different "Collections" according to what kind of images they are, e.g., I divided digital photos and scanned film photos into different collections, because I have different ways to arrange them (digital photos have exact date embedded in the EXIF data, while usually u can remember when your scanned film photos were taken). And for images i downloaded from the internet, and some real old images, i also assigned them as different collections.
3. Re-arrange everything into folders with "meaningful" name, e.g., i arrange my digital photos in folders in the name of date when they were taken, with brief description if needed, by doing this, I can even browse my digital photo folder without the help of Picasa later. There are many ways to give names to your folders, depending on what kind of image files you are dealing with (You can divide photos in the same folder into separate folder, just by selecting the photos that you want to move into a new folder, right-click and choose "move files into new folder..." which is just an easy job).
4. When all the images are put into their appropriate folders, you can start tagging them and give them captions. For tagging, DO NO use labels, select the photos that you want to tag, then press Crtl+K, u can insert keywords into the photos as IPTC (International Press Telecommunications Council) keywords, they keywords are embedded into the photos, and Flickr reads the keywords too!!! That means, you can just give keywords to your photos in Picasa, upload them to your Flickr, and Flickr will recognize them as tags!! (Flickr also recognizes the Picasa caption in your photos as the description). This is a very useful function for Flickr users as well as non-Flickr because the metadata of your images are embedded into your images, meaning that even if u just send your image solely to others, the caption and keywords are still in there, and the keywords are very useful when u have to search for images in Picasa.
5. The most important thing, backup all the images, Picasa provides very nice backup function, helps you to divide all your photos into DVDs, so that u can just burn them and keep your DVDs in a safe place. Backing-up images as a large trunk is also provided, so that you can just backup all your images into an external drive or a networked drive.
Finally, Remember to keep your new images into folders and give them tags when they are imported, do at least one backup job every three months, and hope we all can keep our photos well.
P.S.: I still miss some of my corrupted photos :(
NOOOOOOOO! One of my hard disks broke. The one containing all five seasons of The Wire. This is clearly the worst thing to happen to anyone, ever and the impact of this horrific event will be discussed by historians in years to come. My world shall never be the same again.
Anyway, this is the negative from Polaroid 100 Blue film. It was still wet, so I scanned it through a CD case in order to keep the scanner glass clean (or at least not let it get any dirtier than it currently is). That's why it looks a little blurred and scratchy.

Just now, in the middle of winter I felt the urge of scanning my harddisk for some summer shots... Needed to see green grass, flowers and brighter skies... Although this shot shows some overcast, the other feautures were all there... Not shot with the most modern of cameras... but in this case motive must beat quality. What a relief to know that these conditions will return at some point of time in it's own magical way... Maybe others feel just like me... so: Be my guest!
