Behind this awesomely colored and mesmerizing wall is where cast members do their thing off stage. I was particularly drawn to the combination of color, texture and shadows.

Here's another shot from the the mythical Kingdom of Anandapur. I really love this area of Animal Kingdom. I haven't had as much luck shotting in Africa's Harambe.

Thanks for stopping by!

This is DiVine and she was roaming about with stilts on her arms as well as her legs. Didn't say a word, she was very graceful and would weave in and out of the brush off the path between Harambe and Anandapur in the Animal Kingdom. She totally posed for me here. This worked out well, as this is SOOC.

This is the entrance to the most popular live show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom...“Festival of the Lion King,” a virtual explosion of colors, music and amazing talent. You will be treated to 30 minutes of a variety of some of Disney’s best entertainment in this celebration. You’ll hear some of The Lion King's most popular music performed by magnificent singers. Zany trampoline acrobatics are supplied by the Tumble Monkeys. A blaze of color, feathers, beads, fringe and beautiful head-dresses are found in the costumes of the singer and dancers. Talented stilt walkers dance to the pounding beat with apparent ease. Audio-animatronic and live costumed characters are introduced on enormous moving stages. The spectacular finale includes a heart-stirring rendition of the “Circle of Life."

Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D7200 and combined with Photomatix to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.

The new Animal Kingdom area with the Lion King looks fantastic.

Santa Barbara Zoo - Santa Barbara, California - Bangori the Western Lowland Gorilla was born at the Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville, Texas on 2/18/04 to Mary and Moja. He moved to the Santa Barbara Zoo with his older brother, Nzinga (born 5/22/98), in July 2016 as a bachelor group. He is the younger half-brother (same father) of Harambe, who was tragically killed at the Cincinnati Zoo on 5/28/16.

His older sister, Pele (born 2/12/02), lives at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida.

Animal Kingdom Safari

Kilimanjaro Safaris is a safari attraction at Disney's Animal Kingdom. It simulates an open-sided safari ride through the savanna of East Africa. The current story is a short photo safari aboard a safari vehicle through the Harambe Wildlife Reserve in Harambe, East Africa. It is 800 square miles (2,100 km2) of natural terrain, including Ituri forest, wetlands of the Safi River valley, and the open bush country of the Serengeti Savanna. African animals on view include real live elephants, giraffes, antelopes, gazelles, crocodiles, monkeys, hippopotamuses, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, african wild dogs, warthogs, ostriches, rhinoceroses, ducks, storks, pelicans, flamingos, wildebeests, okapis and zebras.

The game driver points out animals and provides entertainment. The zebras were removed four months after their arrival due to "acclimation" issues. Some reports claim that the zebras were fighting each other, biting at vehicles or each other, standing in the road, or just causing trouble. They were quickly replaced with addax. Recently, the zebras have been reinstated, and can be viewed during the course of the safari.

This is the recently opened area that is home of the Lion King Show at Animal Kingdom. It's a beautifully themed area and the continuity with the existing Africa area is seamless. Very well done.

I thoroughly enjoy walking through all of the parks at WDW finding viewing areas like the one captured in this image. Magical little moments to view while resting our tired bodies, allowing us all to reflect on Disney, past, present, and future.
