Us, we, all, together

These are things that last forever.

Another fantastic sunset over part of Harambe. I was thrilled to have two beautiful ones back to back.

Harambe Village, Disney's Animal Kingdom

I caught this beautiful golden sunset while on my way to the Festival of the Lion King Show. The orange glow from the sun, almost hidden from the trees, made this photo sing. Usually I'm not at the right place and time to get those awesome Disney sunset photos but this time I was. Please enjoy and have a magical day!

Gone just like Harambe are the days of Q507 being a reliable everyday train. Q507 has been cut back to two days a week and now is planned at a shitty time both of those days.

Here is L507 last spring with a trio of GE's sprinting south towards Queensgate as the sun sets on a balmy Ohio day. They're passing the north end of the siding at Haskins which sports a unique CPL setup. Good luck getting 507 in sweet evening light again unless the schedule changes again or they're extremely late...

You all will never hear me saying anything but good things about the detail found at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Most of you already know that I'm sure. This is something that I had always just walked by on all of our past trips. Since it was just Jenea and I on this trip, I seemed to see a little more detail rather than running by it because we are with a big group of family members. :) Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

In the aftermath of the shooting of Harambe the gorilla, I have mixed feelings about zoos, but agree that wild creatures should roam free.

Taken during our May/June 2016 Trip. Thanks for looking!

As mentioned before I haven’t shot Animal Kingdom a lot in the past but on my most recent trip I did get a decent number of shots from areas I previously had never shot. This one of Harambe I especially loved with the dusk lighting. I love how there’s just a faint amount of light in the sky and think it goes beautifully with the hanging lights. The biggest challenge of this shot is the spot lights on the two Festival of the Lion King signs. Those suckers are super hot, being slightly blown out even on shorter exposures.

June 4, 2016. It took me a few days after the horrible killing of Harambe to remember this photo. Zoos must change. They can no longer be for the entertainment of humans.

This was first posted 01/23/2012. Today I happened to run into the father and his son at the zoo, much to my delight, (and his son was wearing the same hat so I knew it was them) and told him about this photo. At the time I took it I had no idea how well I had captured the moment or I would have said something then. For some reason I thought they were from out of town and that I'd never see them again, but I did!

I absolutely hate going to the ape house at the zoo when it's crowded. It is while viewing the apes that I have seen some of the worst of human behavior at the zoo--teasing them, making fun of them, and screaming at them. I had not seen them in many years, but decided to take a chance on a cold day in hopes that very few people would be there. There was only a family with a young boy. The man introduced his son to the huge and beautiful male gorilla who was sitting up against the glass. The man crouched down low and lowered his head, not making direct eye contact, as the instructions say, to show deference and respect to the gorilla.

Okay this is the LAST Disney shot ; )

Alright, wednesday was fun as fuck. Got to chill with some fam and hit it in Sean's room (Thanks too his Dad). Most of Panama also got setup, for the first time in years everyone showed up night one. Got to play cards against humanity with Sean, Nikita, Nick and Nick along with a few other youtube faggos (Sorry not sorry) (JK y'all cool too).

Thursday was fun, just a lot of ass fuckery with my mans Hunter, the most racist motherfucker there is. Just kidding, he's more edgy than a prepubescent teen. Low-key started saying low-key about everything. Picked up my fam, Brendon from the bowels of DC, known as Ronald Reagan INTL Airport. Went to my surplus store and picked up a pretty neato pair of vests. Hung out with Fam, Gage came and we fucked shit up, also "Fuck that allahu ackbar looking fuck". Gage low-key steals when he's drunk as fuck. And the enigma that is Zach Fucking Bean is my Nigga.

Friday was uneventful other than more liquids being consumed, and more fuckery. Bounce house got shut down by the convention center whore of a manager and ruined the good vibes of brickfair. We drank some more.

Saturday was fun, but rather boring, my obsession for fire engines broke free, and came out thanks to my mans Nick. (If you can find my other account that I use for fire engines I'll send you some protos)

Rip Max's ankle, and the myth and the legend of the walmart shopping cart. Played some more cards against humanity. Drank some more. Whatever

Sunday was like Saturday, except for the fact that the amazing goon squad weekend came to a close.

Cut here for the TL;DR

For real though, this brickfair was the best in the books, it went to fast, and the hype was lowkey, if there was even any. The hype for me has went down, it has become a meeting for friends, my favorite analogy for it, as stated by Nikita was "It's now like a video game that you have beat and come back to play, t is still fun but it brings back memories that will be saved and stored for the next year when you decide to play it again for nostalgic reasons." which perfectly summed it up, then again there was a few people who were missing this year that made brickfair great for me and others and were definitely missed. It was different, which sucked in some aspects. But a huge shoutout to these guys

The Collab:

Nick Mango

Nick Canoli (Missed but still contributed)

The Bros:

Nikita Peshkov (For real you are my man and couldn't of asked for anyone better to had stayed with me at my house)

Shilo fucking Parker for being the biggest fucking goon with a thyroid disease that isn't fat with gray hair and giving us some of the strongest fucking fireball I've ever had

Brendon Bangert for being a bro, and letting us stay with him

Zach Bean for being a total enigma of a room mate but was still a real G

Mike Willhoit, the fucking Trillhoit edition

Kalon for being a bro and help feeding my addiction to being able to talk about gear and real world shit

Simon Lu for the ketchup chips

Hunter mo'fuckin' Erickson for being my mans

Zach Polley for being my mans and telling me how close to me he really lives to me

Gage for just being there for Morale

Vendors:

Will, for bringing a lot of cool stuff for Nick, Sean, Nikita and I that we requested, and pulled through with.

Victor for being my flickr boi (mans) and hooking each other with cool shit and cool jokes

Joe and the crew for hooking Codey and I up with some good deals and being a G for giving us the parts we ordered but never showed up

Ryan for letting me dance with him through brickfair

Todd for giving me the parts hookup

As well as the Brickmania crew, and Dan's sick dreds form back in 2003

And Alex for hooking me up with newest and trillest in modern heavy weapons!

And so many more that would just fill up the page, it was real this year and went by way too quick, but had a lot to write about this year and could have written more, a lot more.

I'm sorry if I missed tagging you ahead of time.
