This is a long overdue project. In February 2018, I held a party for my 40th birthday, and invited a bunch of friends to my place. One of the activity we had was to shoot photos for this very image I had in mind: they definitely knew it wouldn't be the most flattering portrays, but they were kind enough to drop their shirts a pose with weird attitudes... thanks guys, much appreciated!
The idea here is quite common: I wanted to depict the usual antagonism one feels when aging. Birthdays are good occasions for fun, but they also remind that time passes, leading to those contradictory feelings that can arise. So I wanted to show an happy event, as seen from the main character mind, who thinks maybe a bit too much about the negativity rather than enjoying the party itself. This is why the candle is consuming his body, and also why his numerous friends (even with champagne cork heads) can't seem to rejoice him.

How many cheap, flimsy, mass-produced bags do we need? In the winter of 2010, I decided that I wanted to make better leather handbags. I wanted to design an everything bag. Something that said different things to different women. It had to be, first and foremost, well-constructed and made with exceptional materials. Then it had to be beautiful and multi-textured. I started with thick piled fabrics, then I added luxurious leather and topped them off with hand-carved, solid oak handles. Next was functionality. I inserted a wood bottom…no more folding up…no smashed fruit and veggies…no broken eggs…no purse items lost in a dark abyss. I designed a bag that could carry anything! A computer, lunch, a change of shoes, diapers or groceries. One size small enough for an evening out, all the way up to a bag large enough to pack for a weekend getaway.

i'm never fond of valentines day, even when i'm involved with someone (hopefully people say they love you more frequently than once a year!), but it's extra-annoying when i'm single -- but these tulips (that C&N sent, thank you!) are so pretty, i can't see the harm in posting them and wishing you a happy valentines day.
now i'm off to go sail two races in a winter storm! no candy hearts or roses here!

i am back from a small break during which we went to Sydney for the New Year and to Central Coast of NSW for a holiday...
it was my second time at the Sydney New Year fireworks and it was my first chance to take some photos... we were located at the Strickland House with a good view of the entire harbour...

Happy New Year!!
We got hit with some snow yesterday and it stormed half decently for most of the day. I went ut and took some pictures of fences during the storm while checking out my snow tires. It was pretty out there. I shall show you on Friday.
Beyond that. There will not be many butterflies in the cards.
