Since we have entered into the season of summer - I thought my glass topped coffee table should be "summery". (Not sure "summery" is a word - but I think most people will understand what I mean.)

The "Happy Return" is the only remaining Mounts Bay lugger and mackerel driver with a dipping lug. She is listed 2162 on the National Register of Historic Vessels.

Weather is awful so indoor fun for now. She has a new zippy paws ladybird toy, green leaf 'home' and 3 ladybirds, one each so no dramas

Wishing Everyone Happy New Year !! Just like in this pic, those Sunrise clouds over Half Dome brings much needed warm in that very very cold morning in Yosemite, Hope New Year will bring you more warmth, happiness, Peace !!
I must say if there is heaven on earth .... it must be Yosemite.
Its more popular during Summer... but Winter in Yosemite is even more beautiful. Its less crowded in Winter..... but still crowded..:) Unlike last two Years its has got good snowfall this year so far..
Hopefully it will get more....
Taken from Sentinel Bridge.Just after Sunrise. Handheld capture as my tripod got cold feet in the very very cold morning. Temp was 15 F ( -9 c), my hands were shivering but some how manage to capture these....

Christmas with no Santa, red outfits, numerous gifts and celebrated seven days after the New Year? No, it’s not a successful project by the Grinch. It’s Orthodox Christmas.
Many Orthodox Christians in the United States celebrate Christmas Day on or near January 7 in the Gregorian calendar. This date works to be December 25 in the Julian calendar, which pre-dates the Gregorian calendar. It is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, who is believed to be the son of God.
For many Orthodox Christians, Christmas Day is not about presents, eggnog or Christmas characters that have become popular through commercialization. Christmas Day is a time to heal the soul. It is also a time of peace and unity.
White cloth is used on dinner tables in some countries to symbolize purity and the cloth that baby Jesus was wrapped in. Straw may be placed on these tables to symbolize the simplicity of the place where Jesus was born. Candles may be lit to represent the light of Christ and the festive Christmas meal represents the end of fasting.
