One of the girls of the white-faced saki monkey family looks up from her work. Now that the daughter, Clemenine, is settling down from her youthful vigor, I'm finding it difficult to distinguish her from her mother, Lexi.

the other day I was in the garden watering my peppers when I noticed this one plant that had circular cuts in the leaves. I haven't had any problems with pests in my garden so I was stumped. Could this be the work of a caterpillar? I got on-line and did an image search and soon found out that this is the handy work of a leaf cutting bee...which I've never even heard of before. They don't eat the leaf material but use to for bedding in their nests for their babies. Nests that they build in rose bushes which, of course, I have several. Oh joy! Hopefully they don't do any more damage and this plant will live. If it does live I'll let the bee live too ;)
