Please stop by Art in the Age this Friday in Philadelphia for the opening reception of my show Handwork. We'll be hanging out with my quilts from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the show will be on view until March 31st.
You can see more of this quilt at www.carriestrine.com/steps
Processed from one single RAW file. I could unfortunately not take more than one exposure since I didn't have time to use the tripod, and the woman was moving.

Another of the handworked prints. This time it's me and Ali. It. maybe a personal thing but I feel quite interested in this process.
Something to do with connecting with the print...
This time is was scoured with a wire brush, scraped with a blunt knfe, rubbed wit toothpaste and the red was flicked on by nail varnish...Then scanned back in.
It's been such a busy week of creating. The Children's Fiber Arts camp that I teach every year was such a wonderful success that it was hard to see it end. But, finishing the camp means that the week I leave for New York and the beginning of my four-year Waldorf handwork training is just around the corner. I can barely contain myself for anticipation.
Dinner, a quick run and shower, and back to work finishing a sign that she wants to deliver tomorrow. Love this lady!

Uschi's Handwork
This fascinating handwork is called "Tupilak" in Greenland and is made of reindeer antlers. We saw craftsmen doing them in a workshop. Really amazing!
We brought this one home as a souvenir. A great keepsake from our fascinating journey through Greenland!
