This is another side of the bag. Based on scenery of Hokkaido, Japan. I just love Biei so much.

I believe the owner is going to love this bag. I designed in such a way that's easy to carry and handy to use. The owner doesn't want any zipper at all, so this design should match her requirement.

Molly Crabapple for Sublime Stitching.

Color selection my own personal madness :) stitched on the front of a hoodie.

This is an ideal me. If you know, my hair was longer and bouffantier and I was thinner, but a girl can dream. This is a modified version of an archived Sublime Stitching advert that Jenny was nice enough to share with us. You can access the archive here:

Jenni Waterloo stitched this up wicked fast back in May. Her version is an exact replication of the origianl image. Check out her fine stitches here:

I love the original image and plan to stitch one up to the tee, but I am also a narcissit (hey at least I can admit it!) and wanted to see if I could pull off stitching something that would look like my hair. It proved to be just as difficult as dealing with my actual hair in real life. Go figure.

The WIP? is because I might do some embellishing on the blouse..... hmmm, will have to have a think about it.

This has taken forever, and it was worth every single second to me. See the double zipper? That was tricky but worth learning how to do. Thanks to many online sewing friends for sharing wonderful fabrics with me! Will upload more pics tomorrow when the light is better.

With the end of March comes the last prompt of our photo a day in March challenge: a creative way to say good bye along the lines of see you later alligator. Dolly doesn't want to say good bye, so she says, "See you soon then, tiny hen."

A combination of Elizabethan cross stitch patterns. Stitched with off-white thread on hand-dyed kelly green cross stitch fabric.

I had to make one for the little girls--and the big girls (like myself!) who love pink!

It's not every day that you get to see a pink unicorn wearing a purple floral wreath.

Unless you live in my daughter's world. Then...of course...you probably see them every day.

For the July "Fantastic Creatures" ATC Swap on ATC Beginners. This card was sent to akingslow.

This ATC is hand-embroidered using cotton floss. The background is 100% wool felt (cream color) and the backing is also wool felt (pink). The size of this piece is 2 1/2" x 3 1/2".

Front - Sunbonnet Sue happily going for shopping :>

Fabric paper painted and embellished. Soldering iron "cut" circles. Machine and hand stitched. Part of a bigger piece.

it's been a while since i've taken whales the beach. okay, it's been a while since i've made any whales. the sun was awesome after the morning rain, and the strong wind wasn't even cold. the warm season is upon us. this whale is available now - see profile for link.

Last night I customised some elastic hairbands - I'd saved these almost-finished flowers from my batch making last month ready to sew them onto felt cuffs... but I decided to use them for hairbands instead.

Finished white rabbit I embroidered and stitched for the swap I participated in :) He's sort of 3-D with his felt collar, scroll, watch and clothing parts that are raised up or popping off of the cloth! Love how he turned out :)

Set of three handmade christmas decorations perfect for any tree, with a ribbon hanging loop. They are slightly padded and finished with an appliqued snowflake.

purples totally feel like fall to me (same goes for deep reds - i like to mix them together in my wardrobe) and i've got some beautiful purples and plums from the dye pot recently. seemed time for another purpley-grey whale. the top of this one is repurposed grey cotton twill, but all other fabrics are hand- and/or natural dyed silks and linens.

I love cake. I really do.

Could I get away with buying fancy cakes to use as props when photographing these, I wonder...?

This bag is very suitable for any occasion. This bag is 100% hand stitched

set myself a fun challenge ...to capture summer on probs the only best day it might appear. The zoom did the rest.......

pano of 5 shots taken hand held zoom from a mighty long way away and had to be fast. The handstitching could do with some more work if I'd ever think to print it, but for now it just sang out summer for me...

masked racoon

These ashleyg inspired ornaments remind me of tweedle dee and tweedle dum so instead of alice I found a bunny for them to hang out with.

a little fellow letting his long horn guide the way. stitched in shimmery silver silk and nubby wool, and stuffed with locally sourced alpaca.

fog and swell: two if by sea

A catch up cos I didn't take a photo yesterday. Lots of label brooches! :)

Finished a batch of I Love Cake badges and the tea addict pins from the other day... and tried out some new designs too: a geekery series and a (very hastily sewn so rather a mess!) coffee addict for people who spurn lovely tea in favour of the evil bean :D

Can you see the stitching/quilting around each of the paisleys? It made each of them pop up off the background. Gives it so much depth IRL.

...sewing cute & finally close to finishing this one!

Note: *please don't fav. my images without commenting... I love to know what you think of my work! It means so much! Thanks!

:o)

I know, I do a lot of the bagkeepers in red...I can't help it, I like red in a kitchen! So sue me, lol. Someone suggested that I try one with green and blue, so here it is. I still had to have a little red, just to make the strawberries POP.

A little birdy told me that you can keep your needles in here!!

Coming along, the pieces are EPP, with 1 inch sides and 1 inch squares. All handstitched.

This is a development of the Red Waves, and it was at this point I started to use larger stones, rather than just beads, I like the way it has worked on this piece.
