I've been making these little lavender sachets in the evenings when I've been too tired to work or read or do anything else useful. It's lovely and relaxing playing around with colours and trims (each square is decorated on both sides) and now my whole house smells of lavender!

10 of these have already been given as Christmas presents, and I have lots more still to sew.... You can make some too if you want: there's a free tutorial on my blog.

A tiny fiber art character on a stick, designed and created by my daughter Zoe. Kind of like a sock monkey, but different. Not sure what we should call it, but I like it!

This is what I sent out in a secret swap - sent to greygoat who said she likes corsages and is known to love Japanese things, so I made her a big Sakura (cherry blossom) brooch (two pinbacks! two!). Fully handstitched, with bead detailing, made whilst half-watching A Beautiful Mind and Con Air :)

I really enjoyed stitching this piece of textured embroidery.

I also loved looking for bits and pieces to include in it such as beads, buttons, sequins and different threads. There's even a section of copper pipe in there. I've added a note to show where it is.

This is Mushy Lou, the oldest sister of The 3 Mushy Sisters. They're from one of my original illustrations. Now you can have your very own Mushy Lou felt brooch :)

Made with felt by handstitching and glued together for extra durability. Handpainted with fabric paint. Metal brooch backing. Mushy Lou measures 1.25" x 1.5".

Can be used on your clothes, pencil cases, bags, or anywhere else you can pin to!

Real life has got in the way this weekend and not left any time for flickring, but i will catch up with everyone in the end. Wanted to say thanks for helping the last few shots to make explore, still surprises me every time it happens

handstitched from repurposed denim and linen, stuffed with locally sourced raw wool fleece.

It was my friend's sister's birthday so I bought a bag from urban outfitters and sewed a little monkey on it as she has always commented how much she likes the monkey that is on my clothing site.

The tiny light brown 'symbol' near the monkey is my id name 'pei'.

Devoid of a running narrative, Another Way forms a collection of visual quips and puns that playfully toy with our grasp of normality. Each witticism aims to shift expectation into a place that is a little more surprising. The publication is printed in three separate colours on a Risograph printer before being handstitched.

I use this for traveling. The size is able to fit in a passport, very handy. It is 100% hand stitched.

Used my leftover strips from the doll quilt to make a little mug rug. This seemed like a good time to attempt "real" binding. Blogged.

Handstitched and complete with super-strong magnets on the back! In fact, these guys keep wanting to stick together, and I'm going to have to find a way to package them so they stop trying to make out...heehee...

for my loveliest customer friend. i hope she is not into flickr. ^_^

it's handsewn handquilted handstitched with alot of my sincerity. hope she likes it.

Macro Mondays ~ Knots

Cotton thread on linen in an 8 inch hoop

I've been wanting to make a cathedral window quilt since I first saw how beautiful it is. The way to make it is so cool to me, but the process takes forever! I would love this to be at least a lap quilt size but who knows if I have the patience! The background is unbleached muslin and the windows are from Heather Bailey's freshcut line. I love the colors! And Jessica helped me cut them! Thanks so much!

I'm making blocks of 4 at a time then will stitch them all together. Each block of 4 is a 9" square.

Tutorial found here.

I stitched this simple Christmas ornament. The materials are heavy gold paper with holes and blue cotton embroidery thread. The ornament measures approximately 2.5" square. See the first comment for the "measurement" photo.

I seriously love this. This mini is a belated gift for my mom.

It feels like ages since I've been on Flickr, but I've had a good break and have just started to pick up my camera again. I've been doing lots of slow stitching over the last month and there's a tiny part of one of the scrolls I made on the left of this image. Actually, this one was my first. It's 3" deep by almost 4ft long and wraps around a wooden bobbin. I hope each one I create will get a little better, but I won't hold my breath. :)

The hand stitched passementerie button dates from the late 19th century. It amazes me that something so pretty was never used, which means it's still in pristine condition. Somehow I don't think my stitching efforts will ever quite match this. :)

The wicker basket was made in Denmark in the 1970s. Underneath the button are a couple of pieces of tea-dyed fabric - something else I've been trying out recently. It's been fun learning new things. I've even bought myself a set of cheap water colour paints. Of course, I may never show anyone what results from that purchase. I have a feeling it might get messy. :)

Happy New Year, everyone.

City Embroidery. My daughter draws cities once in a while, with tall buildings, freeways, and transportation.

I'm still not sure of what to do with it. It could turn into a pillow, bag, or mini quilt.

Ok I know some of you must be saying "Enough already with these darn napkins!". No worries I don't have anymore and SS is currently sold out of them.

This set is for my sister Ashley :)

Some more Headbands for the Shop... Update later today and I forgot to mention that all these made today are OOAK.. Yesterday all but two were!

The Flowers are held on by Brads and handstitched to each ribbon

The ends I sealed with Fraycheck.

The Headbands tie on their heads.. I debated adding Buttons or Velcro but this way you can change which direction you tie it on her head :)

So I made a few to sell in my Etsy Shop :D

By special request! A mini pincushion version of one of my brooches - it's about 2 inches (5cms) across. All the flowers are cut by hand :)

Journal made from a cardboard box, covered in scrap birdie material and glass bird closure.

I blogged about how I made this journal here

I'm feeling a bit better today (most wonderful!) but over the past couple of days my craftiness has ground almost to a halt.

I have been finishing a couple of teacups a day though and it's nice to see them all finished :)

Homespun goodness...felt and embroidery and pretty red bead berries--all handstitched for Christmas.

For "Hand Stitched" Embroidery SWAP made it's way from here in UK to Kate in Melbourne, Aus ;-)
