A peacock theme!
I was creating some kanzashi birds (peacocks, of course), and I decided some of the petals would look more beautiful in a more abstract peacock design...so here we are! How do you like it?
I made some 1/4 size silk kimono! These leave kanzashi that I've been working on for a few months go really well.
I want to try to finish before the season is long over next time, haha!
Ruan is borrowing another wig...they look more playful like this.
Handmade kimono. Handmade tsumami zaiku. (Also called kanzashi). I made each one by hand...I don't have a sewing machine, so kimono take a long time.
Thistle is wearing her silver wig...resting in a pile of silk. She has such a sad, sweet expression.

She's surrounded by various other kanzashi...from person sized ones to BJD sized ones.
I made her lacey leggings, and altered the white dress.

Nagajyuban is a kind of light weight (usually silk) kimono worn under the more ornate silk over-kimono. The nagajyuban is part of formal kimono wearing.

Closeup on the bodice. Kinda made up the pattern as I went, but meisen is rather thick for this design.
As you can see that this dress suit me very well, don't forget to make it for me Mom!
