This is a nicely made little carpenter's axe made in - would yoiu believe it - China. The bit is nicely shaped and polished although surface rust has made its marks. The handle looks like oka to me and the axe is well balanced. The steel also seems tough, so despite the dubious place of origin it feels and performs like a quality axe.

This is how my package from my best friend arrived this morning.
It appears something ran over it. WTF!
Contents miraculously survived.
A closeup of the basket from the Harvest Gathering gift. The handwoven details and rich mahogany color are simply lovely.
Naomi plants her feet. I am here, Rhonda come get it. I think we all did a great job of handling everyone's pots. I know there were a couple of small drops, butI don't think anything major. If you have been in pottery for awhile, you learn to accept this risk. I personally had a pot blow up and take out a whole shelf of other people's work in a gas kiln. From that moment on, I have never faulted anyone for any damage. It will happen to everyone eventually. Accept it.
The tray is about 5" square. The handle and ring base are forged from one piece of round bar and the handle is wrapped and scrolled with a smaller rod for decoration. Finished with a clear lacquer.
