Abington Pigotts, Essex

Must be something really good if it's from THOR labs.

Seen in the compsci/maths building.

A spoon handle end and a small section of scrap brass, bronze, and silver tray are brought together with hand-forged copper rivets to form these majestic creatures of the north.

Chance to get up close

All this week students from West Dean College are here at Fishbourne Roman Palace. They are doing a short project to review the condition of artefacts in some of our cases. In doing so they are having to empty these cases (and giving them a clean whilst they are there). A great opportunity to get close to some artefacts and we thought you may like a look too.

If you come along on 20th, 21st May you can see the students busy at work and talk to them about the project. You may even get a special chance to see one or two things up close.

A closeup of the basket from the Harvest Gathering gift. The handwoven details and rich mahogany color are simply lovely.
