listen: hard to handle grateful dead: fillmore east, nyc 4/29/71
I wanted to upload a different dead song for this photo, but the mp3 was something like 59 mb. So I settled, for this song at 23.5 mb. It smokes and fits the photo, I think. This cover of the famous Otis Redding song is sung by Pigpen, the first of 4 Dead keyboardists to die of various reasons. Pigpen died alone and afraid at age 27. Cause of death: "hard living".
My wife and I were visiting family in Maryland. On Tuesday, I took the camera out for a photo walk. Handles to lawn mowers at my in law's.
The original concept used a small handle on the gear wheel however I find the rubber Tyre much easier to rotate
One of main goods supplied in Pasar Induk Caringin is fish. To handle its freshness, large refrigerator and blocks of ice are used. A man above was busy handling bags of fishes, in a narrow sidewalk among vehicles and drums.
There is a nice smiley face kind of pull handle to open the door, but the lock is that pointy spindly thing that is difficult to handle with reasonably able hands. WTF?!

I've been real sick for about a week and I decided to blow bubbles last night and take some pictures. This was so much fun.

One of Joannes many garage sale hammers - this was missing a metal wedge, and the wooden one was loose. Original finish was foil label on red painted handle as shown. Absolutely o markings!
Removed wedges, cut handle off by about 3/8" new wedges and now SOLID and TIGHT!
Gets put in the hammer drawer for use as needed.
Any idea as to label aand/or name?
You'll notice these brake handles are intended for V-brakes but they work fine for my side pulls. The bodies are inboard of the grips so they're well protected in case of a fall, which always happens, one way or another, on a series or two of tours. I've mounted them almost vertical, but not quite, so I need less finger movement to grab the levers and thus, apply the brakes faster when needed. There's no strain to the wrist like this and tucked beneath the bars, they're out of the way of catching things.
This is a nicely made little carpenter's axe made in - would yoiu believe it - China. The bit is nicely shaped and polished although surface rust has made its marks. The handle looks like oka to me and the axe is well balanced. The steel also seems tough, so despite the dubious place of origin it feels and performs like a quality axe.
This is the handle on the bow of 1 of my kayaks. 1 length of rope goes the whole way round the boat and has this and another knot at the back tied into it......A fews hours work involved in pulling all that rope through but worth it in the end I think.
This shows my process of hand carving an axe handle from beginning to end. The only part missing is splitting a log down to make a plank for me to work down.
