Lt. Governor Rutherford Attends the Handle With Care by Joe Andrucyk at 100 Community Place, Crownsville MD 21032

Bronze mirrors were luxury objects made primarily for wealthy women. The imagery used to decorate them can sometimes provide clues to the personal stories of those who commissioned and used them. This example has a handle in the form of a winged Lasa, a minor deity associated with Turan, the Etruscan goddess of love. The back depicts the Greek god of love, Eros. Both are fitting subjects for objects that young Etruscan women often received as wedding presents. They also show the way that Etruscan artists often employed imagery reflecting a free-flowing relationship between local religious practices and foreign mythology.

Am sort of collecting door handles.

Have not yet uploaded the collection.

These went up as a sort of visual rhyme with the howler monkeys.

The old door handle at the entrance to St Clement's Church on the Isle of Harris.

One of Joannes many garage sale hammers - this was missing a metal wedge, and the wooden one was loose. Original finish was foil label on red painted handle as shown. Absolutely o markings!

Removed wedges, cut handle off by about 3/8" new wedges and now SOLID and TIGHT!

Gets put in the hammer drawer for use as needed.

Any idea as to label aand/or name?

This picture was taken in the Summer of 1977 with a Kodak Handle instant camera I bought specifically for a trip back to my old home town of Safford, Arizona. I had moved away in 1974, and this was my family's one and only visit (so far) back to our old home town. (Although my Mom got to go out there by herself with some friends in 1984.)

The picture itself is just one I pointed straight up and shot the sky above me. I was standing in the driveway of our ex-neighbor's and friend's house, Joe and Lily Urrea, located one house down from where we used to live on 15th Street. Sadly, Joe passed away several years back, but Lily just celebrated her 80th birthday last week.

Scanned this week, the picture is really starting to show it's age!
