Handle installed with brand new gaskets.
The gaskets are matching perfectly.
It is by design that the door handle (plus gasket) will overlap over the small chrom molding.
a couple of test shots with the canon 1Dmkii coupled with a borrowed sigma 120-400 to test out picture quality etc .my impressions so far are its super fast on a/f speed ,but nikon tend to have a far better dynamic range .not sure yet what role this camera will take i.e landscapes ,macro,or wildlife .suppose it depends on what lenses i can afford .
i have to admit that once uploaded the whites on here look better than on the master shot on my computer ,weird !!!!!!

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York
The day we spent at the MET was a richly rewarding one. The first stop at the Greek and Roman Art exhibit began with this colossal terracotta krate, a vessel used to dilute alcoholic beverages. Its elegant shape, detailed animal paint, and most curiously, lid surmounted with a three-handled smaller jar (hydria), made it elaborately decorative. I wouldn’t mind having one of those standing in my house, would you?

Current spout and handles. I like the 1950s style, but the diverter is broken and the parts are so badly worn that it can't be fixed. Will be replacing all these parts (hopefully with something similar in style). Note also the bad grouting and sloppy plumber's putty, which will all be fixed soon....
It is a notable wool church and regarded as the finest example of Late Perpendicular Gothic architecture in England
By the Victorian Quarter, Oamaru.
The building was originally Meeks Grain Elevator, built in 1883 for the grain traders and millers J. & T. Meek. Oamaru was at that time a flourishing sea port, and bigger than Los Angeles!
The 5-storey building was the only one of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere at the time. It was the first elevator building in the Southern Hemisphere. It had the specific purpose of handling and storing grain, based on the American principle of self-emptying bins. In 1920 the top two storeys were destroyed in a spectacular fire.
It's now Steampunk HQ. Steampunk? Victorian sci-fi...

We decided to name her Cricket because of how she jumps around; she's eight weeks old.
Apparently she had already been adopted out twice and returned twice - once for biting a three-year-old (Why would someone have a dwarf ham with a THREE year old?), and once for biting the father of the new owner (again, I think it's the rare and patient kid who can handle this fast-moving breed). But we thought she looked so winsome and spunky, and if she could live with the other ham, well...?
She bit us at first, too, but then she just settled for being skittish. Every time I visit her, though, she's a little more socialized. She'll get in the hand and look around, but I can't pet her back yet without seeing her jump 10 inches to one side. (Hence the name.)
She's also fine with Susan, the other hamster. They sleep together and wheel together, although Cricket is pretty possessive of the saucer - ha ha. I think (cross-fingers) this is going to work out well. :)
Fed Ex MD 11 ends her training session at Dublin on Saturday 17th August 2013 & heads back to Stansted. Fed Ex Dublin operations are usually handled with their A300 fleet, but as Fed Ex leans towards the more modern MD11 freighter, Elizabeth was sent over to familiarise ground handling with the MD11.
Dublin rarely sees these tri-giants, apart from money movements & American football.
Valle de los Caídos – Valley of the Fallen
The monument was built between 1940 and 1950 by thousands of Republican political prisoners. Miners caved their way through the mountain using dynamite without the help of tunnel machinery. Other prisoners, like peasants, military people and workers were used as unskilled workers. They had to handle big blocks of rock, and as there were no security measures there were daily accidents, in many cases mortal.
José Antonio Primo de Rivera, the founder of the Falange Party, a Fascist inspired political party, was buried there. He was killed in the Civil War, and after the war dictator Francisco Franco ordered political prisoners to walk all the way from the south of Spain to Valle de los Caídos, carrying his coffin.
There are also 33.872 combatants from both sides buried there to create a symbol of reconciliation - even though the monument and the basilica were built to ‘perpetuate the memory of the fallen in our glorious Crusade’. It was to be a tribute to ‘the heroic sacrifice which the Victory embraces and the transcendence it has had for the future of Spain’.
In the monastery there are 19 archives with the data of about half of those buried there. The other half had been found in mass graves, and their identities are unknown.
Franco is buried in this monstrosity which he erected in homage of himself.
At present some Spanish political parties have proposed that the monument be used as a reminder of Franco’s and his followers’ acts during the Civil War and 40 years of dictatorship. In 2006 the EU made a resolution to condemn Franco’s dictatorship in terms of Human Rights. The EU proposed to create an educational, permanent exhibition in the subterranean basilica, and that it would emphasize the way political prisoners were forced to build the monument. – But some Spanish political parties and the Catholic Church oppose this. It would seem that the Catholic Church thinks that some things are best forgotten; they were always Franco’s true followers…
The bus service for the monument has been cancelled. The big majority of Spanish people ignore the fascist monuments, and they are not promoted as tourist attractions.
I wasn’t able to enter the basilica because they were celebrating mass, so there are no photos from there.
