Inside the quarters of Steve Harris, Steve sits with Janick Gers, Dave Murray and Nicko McBrain when his phone rings.

Steve: Colonel Harris speaking.

Flagg: Colonel, this is General Flagg. I need you to come to my office immediately.

Steve: Sure thing, General.

Steve hangs up while Janick stretches out his hamstring.

Janick: Oi Gov’na, who was that?

Steve: General Flagg.

Dave: Flagg's such a tosser.

Steve: Yup. He needs me to report to his office right asap.

Janick: As soon as possible?

Steve: Yup.

Nicko turns around with a smile.

Nicko: You’re doing well with them acronyms, Janick!

Janick: Cheers mate! Cheers!

With urgent business at hand, Colonel Harris puts on his game face.

Steve: I’ll be back in a bit.

Janick: You mean you'll be back asap?

Steve: Yeah, cheers Janick.

Steve leaves and Nicko smiles.

Nicko: He’s always so serious.

FCB NEWS : Taking over as the head coach of the Argentine national team in 2018, Lionel Scaloni reached new heights with the team, guiding them to the Copa America final in Brazil, and eventually lifting the title today morning. With the win, le Albiceleste have worn off a 28-year trophyless drought.Among all the celebrations, nobody could take their eye off a certain Lionel Messi, who reached his fifth different final with Argentina. With the black captain’s armband tucked on his left arm, Leo was drowning in emotion before Scaloni revealed Messi’s injury situation to the media.“Messi had played the games against Colombia and Brazil with some hamstring problems,” he said.Watching either of the games, you would not be able to tell that Messi was, in fact, playing with an injury. Certainly not to his hamstring. He put on a show against Colombia, assisting the goal, creating four chances, and completing 9/12 dribbles. He did, however, pick up an ankle injury against Colombia, where his right sock was shown ridden with blood, with the flesh from his ankle torn.Today, Leo was on his toes defensively, picking up loose balls, and tackling whenever he got the chance. Eventually, he fell to his knees, shedding tears of joy, as the referee blew the full-time whistle.Messi ended the tournament as the top scorer with four goals, the top assister with five assists, and the player of the tournament.

Old Cranleighan HC Hamstrings 3-3 Surbiton, October 16th 2021

Alexander Scott Gonzalez (b: April 8, 1973) is a former MLB infielder, who spent the majority of his career with the Toronto Blue Jays. Gonzalez established a career-high with 20 home runs for the Chicago Cubs in 2003 and hit 20 or more doubles eight times. He was drafted straight out of high school in the 14th round of the 1991 Major League Baseball Draft by the Blue Jays.

After making the major league team to begin 1994, Gonzalez batted only .151 in 15 games and was sent down to Triple-A Syracuse at the end of April because of a hamstring injury. Gonzalez was the Blue Jays starting shortstop from 1995 to 2001 with the exception of 1999 when Toronto traded for Tony Batista. Throughout his career, Gonzalez averaged around .250 with decent power for a middle infielder, but was unable to hit for high average. He made up for the lack of average with good RBI production and solid defense. He led the American league twice in fielding percentage for shortstops. After spending eight years with the Toronto Blue Jays, he was traded to the Chicago Cubs on December 21, 2001, for Felix Heredia and minor leaguer James Deschaine.

Gonzalez has worked as an analyst for NBC Sports and MLB Network covering season news and the World Baseball Classic.

Career statistics:

Batting average - .243

Home runs - 137

RBI - 536

This is a key factor when it comes to changing your body shape for the better. When you build muscle through weight training exercises, you don’t just make your body stronger, it also results in significantly faster fat loss.

Muscle uses fat as fuel and therefore the more muscle that a body has, the more efficient it is at burning fat. Muscle tissue burns far more calories – even when you’re simply resting – than body fat.

When you look at the difference biologically, 10 pounds of muscle would burn 50 calories in a day spent at rest, while 10 pounds of fat would burn just 20 calories.

This confirms what we instinctively feel to be true – more muscular bodies work better all around and help to keep the fat storage at bay. Yet so many of us forget to do any weight training or simply ignore it.

While the cardio activity may be an effective means to burn stored fat, weight training is the way to go when it comes to muscle development.

And you shouldn’t ever neglect muscle development because it stimulates a greater metabolic response from your body. It’s the only way for your body to burn more calories even when you’re at rest.

In order to lose those unwanted pounds, you need to make weight training the core of your fitness program. To incorporate this, start off with 1 or 2 45-minute sessions in a week.

Then slowly build it up to 3-4 sessions, allowing at least a day of rest in between. Consider your metabolic response and body type when choosing a specific program to follow – if you belong to a health club or gym, ask their staff to advise you on the most effective exercise.

Ultimately, make sure that you choose a program that will help you meet your fitness goals. However, you do not need to start a complicated regimen or become a member of an expensive club in order to start weight training on a regular basis.

Simply invest in a pair of 5 to 10lb weights, depending on your strength and capabilities, and try out these three simple weight training exercises to get you started.

Squat Upwards Press This neat move thoroughly works out your quadriceps, hamstrings, butt, abs, and shoulders, so enjoy it – it’s doing you a lot of good!

Stand with your feet roughly shoulder-width apart, with your elbows bent and hold one weight in each hand at shoulder height, with your palms facing forward. Lower your body into a squat, being careful not to let your knees go past your toes. Hold your position for a moment.

Now push up through your heels to reach standing up position, pressing the weight straight up weights overhead.

Finally, return to your starting position. Do 3 sets of 15 reps.

Step Up Bicep Curls This smart exercise works your quadriceps, hamstrings, butt, abs, and biceps.

Stand with your left foot on a sturdy bench or step, with one weight in each hand.

Putting your weight on your left foot, lift to standing on the step, with your right thigh raised so that it’s parallel to the floor. At the same time, curl the weights up toward your shoulders.

Return to the starting position. Do 15 reps, then switch sides and repeat.

Single-Leg Row This effectively works your back, shoulders, biceps, abs, quadriceps, hamstrings and butt.

Stand holding a weight in your left hand. Hinge forward so that your back is as flat as possible and almost parallel to the floor. Rest your right hand on a chair or low shelf for support. Extend your left arm towards the floor, palm facing in; lift straight left leg behind you, so your body forms a T.

Slowly bend your left elbow and draw the weights up until your elbow is even with your torso; hold for a moment, then lower the weight.

Do 15 reps, then switch sides and repeat. Do 3 sets.

Carry out these exercises on a regular basis and not only will your body look slimmer and more toned, but you will start to transform yourself into a far more efficient fat-burning machine!

A little muscle gives a lot of benefits, so make sure you do not ignore your weight training if you are eager to shift the fat.

5 MORNING STRETCHES TO REDUCE PAIN

Tight muscles can lead to pain. But a few simple stretches can help you feel better all day.

Eager to wake up and hop out of bed, pain-free? Here are 5 simple stretches you can do in the morning – even in your pajamas – to reduce your pain. They take less than 10 minutes to do, so you'll be sipping your latte in no time.

NECK STRETCH

While standing or sitting, bend your head forward, bringing chin to chest until you feel the stretch in the back of neck. Hold for 10 seconds.

Gently bend your neck to one side, like you are trying to touch your ear to shoulder, until you feel a stretch in the side of your neck. Hold for 10 seconds.

Repeat on the other side.

BACK STRETCH

Lie on your back with your knees bent and slowly raise your left knee to your chest, holding it there with your hands.

Press your lower back against the floor.

Hold for 30 seconds.

Repeat the exercise with your right knee.

PRESS-UP

Lie face down with your hands near your shoulders and your pelvis on the floor.

Press up from your hands painlessly, straightening your arms and arching your back, keeping your pelvis on the floor.

Hold for 10 seconds, and repeat 10 times.

HIP STRETCH

Lie on your back with knees bent, feet on the ground.

Bring your left ankle up and towards you to rest on your right thigh just above your right knee.

With hands behind your right thigh or around your right shin, pull both legs towards the chest until you feel a stretch in your left hip.

Hold for 30 seconds. Repeat on the other side.

HAMSTRING STRETCH

Lie on the floor with a protruding corner or a door frame just on your left side near your knee.

Raise your left leg and rest your left heel against the wall or door frame with the knee slightly bent.

Gently straighten your left leg until you feel a stretch along the back of your left thigh.

Hold for 30 seconds. Repeat on the other side.

As the stretch becomes easier, move closer to the door or wall.
