SU42-510 of Morvi is slowly rolling on the Polish Embankment of the Gdynia harbour, with a couple of empty wagons for loading.
This picture concluded my week-long stay in northern Poland, where I had the occasion to roam around the areas of the harbour of Gdynia once again. It's an activity, which I have done many times already during my countless stays in the area over the years (because my relatives here), but I still haven't gotten bored of it, as there is always something new going on.
This week, two things caught my attention, both of which I managed to photograph on this shot. First - the smaller of the Stena ferries now moor on the "Nabrzeże Polskie". Second - a new locomotive appeared on the sidings of Gdynia! The SU42-510 very recently, after one of the repairs, was repainted into the traditional SP42 scheme (though more modern headlights were installed), and now looks more or less like SU42-536, which was repaired in 2019. It seems to have made a brief appearance and most likely will be replaced by some other locomotive in this role soon. During my stay it was shunting around with wagons of Budamar, which, combined with their brown livery, made for a semi-retro experience :).

Bella interrupted several attempts at a photography challenge, then got bored & jumped up onto the top of a cupboard. The glare means she wanted my attention - but it was my opportunity to take a photo of her face.
This is my favorite Half Dome shot I took. Much better quality than the pano :O

We don’t want the whole subject just half of it is going to work this week! Half an apple, half a cup of coffee, half a sixpence …. you’ve got it anything that is half and you will be allowed to crop your subject as long as it is an accurate half size of the whole subject!!

I can finally show this publicly. This is a wall I created for Lifestyle back at the beginning of December 2007 and it appeared in the January issue accompanying a feature on 'corporate coffee' in the Philadelphia area.
– TS Taipei lost power and went aground on March 10, 2016. It broke in half and sank. Salvage began by removing the 384 containers. Shimen, New Taipei, Taiwan, May 29, 2016.

Candid eye contact street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. This was just a warm-up shot before my previous street workshop but I loved the resulting eye contact in this. Clutching half a bar of chocolate and enjoying some tunes, I hope that you are enjoying your weekend too my Flickr friends!
Reached to Glacier Point (7214 feet) in Yosemite National Park near sunset on July 6th. Many tourist came to this place gradually to view sunset of Half Dome. Half Dome is a quartz monzonite batholith standing at 8,839 feet.

Why walk fifty yards from the car when you can walk five miles. This is how far we walked to get this shot owing to missing the location and hiking up one side and then down the other. However, the time and trouble was worth it to secure this wonderful image of half dome high above the river in Yosemite National Park. Thankfully, the walk back to the car was somewhat shorter and quicker.

This is just 20% of the view of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park seen from Glacier Point. The best and fastest way to see this is on a monitor is THIS version. I generally upload panoramas so that the height is 550 to 650 pixels. That way on most monitors you can view the full height and just have to scroll to see the width. This was the most spectacular view of Half Dome in Yosemite (that I saw, anyway).
The panorama is "stitched" from three hand-held images. I'm using a new FREE panorama and composite stitcher in software called "Image Composite Editor" or ICE. It's from Microsoft, and it's easily the best, easiest stitching program I've found. If you haven't tried composites/panos, you will be amazed when you give it a try.

Altes Land
Das Alte Land ist ein Teil der Elbmarsch südlich der Elbe in Hamburg und in Niedersachsen. Es umfasst die Gemeinde Jork, die Samtgemeinde Lühe und den Neu Wulmstorfer Ortsteil Rübke in Niedersachsen sowie die Hamburger Stadtteile Neuenfelde, Cranz und Francop.
Altes Land is an area of reclaimed marshland straddling parts of Lower Saxony and Hamburg. The region is situated downstream from Hamburg on the southwestern riverside of the Elbe around the towns of Stade, Buxtehude, Jork and the Samtgemeinde of Lühe. In Hamburg it includes the quarters of Neuenfelde, Cranz, Francop and Finkenwerder. Altes Land is one of the Elbe Marshes.
I didn't know whether to upload this at first, because it's different from the others so far. But this one moves me in a way that makes me feel I'm looking at someone else, someone who has had their heart broken. This is why I am uploading the photo.
Including the glass was a decision I made. The glass was featured already in Dumped. The glass also symbolizes "celebrating a happy occasion" or the opposite "drowning yourself in sorrow".
In the "insomnia" series, I also make use of a crimson detail. Heh.
