The male Vermilion Flycatcher has such a distinctive look. Probably has to do with the thick, black eye-line. Like the female is a busy little bee. So much fun to watch. Wish we could see this beauty further North.

I only managed to capture half the bird but that’s better than nothing . It does give a nice look at one wing at least of this Roseate Spoonbill . Another shot taken at Jefferson Island in Southern Louisiana

Majestic Half Dome as seen from Cook's Meadow in 720nm infrared.

I was watching the live football last evening and looked out of the window at half time to see a magical sunset sky.

So out came the camera and tripod and I quickly took this shot of the copse behind our house. Much better than the game I was watching for sure!!

Half opened Dandelion. I did not pick it but put a sheet around it to get the monochrome background. So the dandelion could open the next day completely for its visitors: bugs and a lot of bees.

Another weekend away with the FFF+ gang. We were a little half hearted about our chances of a successful early morning shoot, with bad weather forecast. However we decided to ignore the reports and head out anyway ... so glad we did as we were treated to a lovely start to the day.

Precious seconds ticked away from when the sun touched and started to sink below the horizon.

I have been working in Brighton for 10 months, and mean to take walks to the beach during the day but am always too busy to do it. Now I always drive home along the esplanade road and enjoy looking at the view, stopping to take photos whenever there is time. I love the sea, the breeze, and the enduring feeling of freedom in the wide open space.
