this little guy is about six months old and has become my constant companion. under my feet, on my feet, around my feet.
Cute painter with a nice bod who totally flaked out when I started taking pictures-
"Should I look at the camera? Should I not look at the camera? I'm not gonna look at the camera! I shouldn't look at the camera, right? I'm not gonna look. I could look at the camera if you wanted me too. Do you want me to look at the camera? It's cooler if I don't look at the camera, right? Maybe I'll just look at the camera a couple of times..."
Dude, this is not 'America's Next Top Model!'
Guy Arab number 314 (JWS 594) was originally built in 1943 and rebuilt in 1952. It entered service with London Transport with its original Park Royal 'utility' body and following its conversion to Duple design by Nudd Bros and Lockyer it was one of 60 Guy Arabs purchased by Edinburgh Corporation Transport in 1952 as part of the tram replacement programme.
The 60 buses were given fleet numbers 301 to 360 (JWS 581 to 640) and Leyland style glass fibre fronts replaced the originals in 1959 on overhaul. In 1963 number 314, seen here at the Scottish Vintage Motor Museum at Lathalmond in Fife, was fitted with a Gardner 6L W engine and was the only one of the fleet group to be treated so.
301 to 360 were based at Longstone depot and used primarily for rush-hour workings until they were scrapped between 1967 and 1969. All except this one which had been intended to become an open-topper for tree lopping, but this never happened.
314 was purchased from ECT in 1972 where extensive refurbishing and rebuilding continued until 1978. Today it is beautifully preserved and owned jointly by G A M Fraser, D G Heathcote and J W Pettie.

Some of the Hot College Guys at my apartment pool during the first week back to school. More to come...
In the past couple of weeks several people have mailed me asking why I hadn't been posting any new pics of cute shirtless guys to the stream and all that I can say in my defense is this... it's winter!! It's been 20 degrees outside for the last two months, if any cute guys had been running around out there with their shirts off then their nipples would have frozen up and fallen off and nobody wants that! So to tide you guys over for the last few weeks before Spring sproings I've dug into the archives and pulled out some pics from the dark, long-ago days of pre-digital guy hunting...
