This is the girl's grumpy looking dad. He's actually a nice guy. They kept talking to me, but unfortunately I didn't understand the language. He then played music with this instrument called Dombra for me. I was quite amused.

is a Banded Gila monster (Heloderma suspectum cinctum), one of two species of lizards that are venomous (out of 3800 species of lizards in the world). Gila monsters and Beaded lizards are native to the Southwestern United States and Northern Mexico. Sorry about the harsh light, but I thought the detail and expression were worth sharing. . "Grumpy" was illegally taken from Arizona in 1997 and I'm fortunate to have him placed in my care. Check the "Grumpy" tag for more information and also www.ecosnake.com. Photo by Frank
My much loved Grandfather Owen Faithfull , known as Grumpy to his grandchildren , and his dog Susie. We all Love You Grumpy .
I went to Cambo today, obstensibly to photograph snowdrops, (they have the best collection in Scotland.) However, I have come back with dozens of pictures of totally out of focus gorgeous piglets.
Anyway, these little snowdrops caught my eye. They are called grumpy (Galanthus elweseii 'Grumpy', to be precise) - because of their great markings.
Day 4
This morning has been filled with tears and a very grumpy boy. The dogs have also been Crazy. A Cyclone is brewing off the coast here so im blaming weather for all bad behaviour!
Ah, need more car shots. Well, here's the tree across that intersection. I call it The Grumpy Cyclops as it seems to have a face when the branch was removed a few decades back The bright green markings are for pesticides used to combat a problem beetle that attacks these trees.

I think this is a clerid beetle. It was quite fuzzy and had a very grumpy face, which of course it turned away from me when I tried to photograph it! Sitting on Kunzea ambigua flowers. [Lower Blue Mountains, NSW]
Me - tired and grumpy after my first day back at work in over a week. To make matters worse, I had to go to a Report Writing course as part of a work based qualification I've been doing for 13 months. The course covered punctuation, grammar and the correct use of verbs, nouns and adjectives. Subjects I studied at primary school. Sigh.
This morning was "housekeeper Thursday" When I have to get up on my day off so that strangers can come clean my house so that my husband doesn't have to feel guilty about not helping. I'm trying to make the best of it, so I went for a walk around the lake with the camera.
