"Listen: you are not yourself, you are crowds of others, you are as leaky a vessel as was ever made, you have spent vast amounts of your life as someone else, as people who died long ago, as people who never lived, as strangers you never met. The usual I we are given has all the tidy containment of the kind of character the realist novel specializes in and none of the porousness of our every waking moment, the loose threads, the strange dreams, the forgettings and misrememberings, the portions of a life lived through others’ stories, the incoherence and inconsistency, the pantheon of dei ex machina and the companionability of ghosts. There are other ways of telling."
- Rebecca Solnit

J. Alden Weir became one of the leading early American Impressionists. However, his art education began with training in the traditional basic styles and methods from his father. Throughout his career subject matter included landscape, still lifes, and portraits. Although his landscapes increasingly reflected his adoption of Impressionism, his portraits and still lifes remained more real.
I was doing the shot for my calender project, and I offered these free shots as thank you gifts. :)

I am here to tell you that no matter how much of the story that you know or have figured out it will never be the entire story.
There will always be the puzzle, the mystery. Sometimes the flow of life seems relentless - even cruel. But it has its own rhythm, its own life force. Here we are.

Look, just as time isn't inside clocks love isn't inside bodies: bodies only tell the love.

I'd like to be the sort of person who can enjoy things at the time, instead of having to go back in my head and enjoy them.
- Wallace

I found you can’t wait to become perfect, you've got to go out and fall down and get up with everybody else.

About a mile or so from our place there’s a Petco store. They provide the dog treats that Ritzy, our Poodle, loves. Today these three young people were behind the counter. It took me awhile to realize tha the two with name badges had switched them. I used TitleFX to hide their names and plant generics in their places. The “me” on the other woman’s sleeve just seemed to be in the holiday spirit of this occasion.
