My friend Dr. Christopher Campbell and his team jumped out of a mechanical device doomed to failure this past Saturday June 30,2012 at approximately 7:50pm with his Special Forces Team, www.http://sfapt.org/, to kick off a race at Bowman Gray Raceway.

Gray (Haute-Saône, France) is a small town of approximately 5500 inhabitants that has had a rich and glorious past in the 19th century as its sophisticated architecture can show. Today, on a short Saturday afternoon walk in the town centre I saw dozens of closed shops that are the signs of the current economic situation of small businesses that are unable to survive. This depressing scenery has inspired me this very dark and contrasty series of pictures.

As we came around the corner to see the gray fox's usual spot, we saw him sitting around the corner, patiently waiting for us to approach. He was sitting about 20ft closer to us than the younger fox in the background.
We sat and watched him mosey around the pathway in front of us for a while - it was another awesome experience!
St, Patrick's Day 2013 was an unforgettable day. A pair of courting gray whales came up to the boats and gave us quite a show with spyhopping, breaching, and rubbing against the boats.

I'm trying to come back to Flickr.. Facebook doesn't do it for me anymore. Thinking of doing a 365 soon, I have a friend who wants to do it too, if she does then I will start with her.
North Carolina is lovely, the air is so clean. I don't miss Utah at all, only my friends and family. I'm enjoying this state. I can't wait to go to the beach too, once it gets warmer. Daniel (husband) and I have been talking about Oregon lately, and considering taking a trip out there to see if it is somewhere we could enjoy living. It is somewhere both of us have dreamed about since forever. One of those dreams we share.
It's lovely finally having him around after two years of long distance. He makes my heart happy.
Gray looks so...thoughtful. Shades of things to come, I hope, when he (again hopefully) grows past the egocentric reactionary phase!
After this pic was taken, Mira took her red hairtie off and tied it around his waist to lead him around the park. He obliged by acting like her puppy. :)

Every Summer in Mid Aug I search one of my favorite swampy habitats for the presence of a fresh crop of Little Gray Tree Frogs. Some years they are numerous and some years like this one they are very scarce or completely absent. I found only two so far this year but I will go back and look a few more times in the hope that they are just maturing a little later this year.
