Known by hawk watchers as the Gray Ghost this male harrier was enjoying some hunting at the Great Swamp. He did catch a few mice after gliding along the tops of the grass and cartwheeling onto its prey.
I had better shots but all of them were horrifyingly out of focus. Which is a real shame, because this flower is kind of rare and we were lucky to see it at all. Oh well.
The Gray Hawk is a neo-tropical species that barely crosses the border into the Sonoran Desert in southern Arizona in spring / summer. They are a bit bigger than Cooper's hawks. Blue-gray Tanager, taken in the rain in the forest area overlooking our room, it rained a lot here, and we sat on the balcony awaiting birds landing in the trees, was quite a relaxing way to spend several hours really!

Rhynes is a female Shiba Inu that Gray found lying in the middle of the road outside his house when he was just 14.
Ever since then, they had been as close as a school of fish. Even when Gray got kicked out of his house for having a piercing. Even when Rhynes got knocked down by a speeding bicycle. Even when Gray just started to learn cooking and puked when he tasted his first dish.
& Even when he moved out and lived on his own at the age of 19.
