I think that this is a red-legged grasshopper (Melanoplus femurrubrum). Corrections welcome!

Grasshoppers Mating

Llegó a nuestra casa, le hice unas fotos y lo dejamos marchar. Suerte amigo.

The grasshopper came to our house I took some pictures and we let it go. Good luck my friend.

Probably a (Chorthippus) species, but not my speciality subject. Triple 'H', Dorset.

The grasshopper drone is an unpiloted forward attack bug. It leaps across the front lines, fires a couple of plasma bursts at the enemy, and then leaps back. Can be either remotely controlled, or pre-programmed. Unlike a real grasshopper, this drone is incapable of sustained flight - it just jumps really high.

I created this particular version of the same image because this 2nd version will look much better than version 1 viewing it in the anaglyph mode because of a lot less ghosting that is caused by the extensive cutout for the out of box / out of frame look done in version 1 of the image.

This grasshopper (or grasshider in this case) was found on the edge of the field that had recently been hay harvested. I didn't notice until I uploaded my pictures that the poor grasshopper had lost one of his antennae. I wonder if he lost it when they came to mow the field?
