This is a annular groove graphite heat exchanger in a pharmaceutical plant. It condenses ultra corrosive chemicals vapors coming from a glass lined reactor located immediately underneath. Thanks to the specific annular groove design, such pieces of graphite equipment can remain in service for several decades. More... www.gab-neumann.com/Annular-groove-interchangers
Dank der spezifischen Ausführung können solche Graphitapparate über Jahrzehnte im Einsatz sein. you can barely see it in the scan, but i'm planning on wreathing caely's profile with linear drawings of marigolds and water lilies, two flowers native to bangladesh. caely spent over a year (?) studying economics there, and i thought they would provide a nice frame for the fineness of her features.
i want to turn the ends of her hair into the roots of the flowers but so far neil is not so cool with that plan because he thinks it's creepy.
i'm debating whether or not to render the final draft in graphite or do something flatter and more linear in a painted medium.

2013 Recapitulations - Video Presentation of My Drawings
After having posted the 2013 Recapitulations - Video Presentation of Paintings & Installations, I created a parallel video, 2013 Recapitulation - Drawings, showcasing12 drawings I made last year, a sample of my works in the media I have grown quite fond of.
A Still Life Painting, Two Pears, Completed
Earlier this year, I started to work on some fruit drawings, mostly with figs and pears as my subject. Later, I decided to commit such effort onto canvas with oil paint to depict my edible subjects. Finally I completed a painting with two pears, revealed from a diamond-shaped slashed opening. The bright color on the fruits contrasted strongly with the muted background.
I've been working on a pair of fruit paintings for a while - a pair of pears and a pair of figs - all inspired by a dream. Below are some drawings I worked on concurrently and finished way before my paintings.
