Wegen Bauarbeiten im Grenzbahnhof Frankfurt-Oderbrücke erfolgten Umleitungen über die bekannte Ausweichstrecke Czerwiensk - Guben. Das betraf auch den Koks aus Kędzierzyn-Koźle nach Eisenhüttenstadt. Der eigentlich recht planmäßig verkehrende Zug musste teilweise lange erwartet werden, aber zum Glück gab es damals sehr viele Handlungsalternativen rund um Czerwiensk. 232 658 erwies sich als "Dauerbrenner" 😂.
Übrigens, am gleichen Tag fotografierte ich in Haldensleben den bekannten EZ51223, der mit 233 709 bespannt war und in Groß Ammensleben wegen Kühlwassermangel in die Ecke ging. Danach fuhr ich nach Polen! Was man doch alles auf sich nahm 👀.

Had a few days on the South Coast last week. Never been to this area before. Lots to see, visit and do.
Neolithic stone circles, medieval cathedrals, the UK's tallest viewing platform and some pretty good streetart. Can't be bad.

Diese Villa in der Eichengasse 16 in Reichenau an der Rax wurde 1890 vom lokalen Baumeister Carl Postl für Anna Graf erbaut. Ansichtskarten mit dem Motiv dieser Villa versandten Adolf und Olga Hess an ihre Verwandten und Bekannten, die von 1913 bis 1933 Eigentümer dieser wunderschönen Villa waren. Es wäre kein Wunder, würden Exemplare davon auf Flohmärkten oder in Antiquariaten auftauchen.
This villa at Eichengasse 16 in Reichenau an der Rax was built in 1890 by local master builder Carl Postl for Anna Graf. Picture postcards with the motif of this villa were sent by Adolf and Olga Hess to their relatives and acquaintances, who were the owners of this beautiful villa from 1913 to 1933. It would be no wonder if copies of them were to turn up at flea markets or in second-hand bookshops.

The apartment we rented was right there, at No. 26. I was curious who Graf Starhemberg was. From Wikipedia: "Count Ernst Rüdiger von Starhemberg (12 January 1638 – 4 January 1701) was military governor of Vienna from 1680, the city's defender during the Battle of Vienna in 1683, Imperial general during the Great Turkish War, and President of the Hofkriegsrat . . . In 1683 he was military commander of the city of Vienna, with fewer than 20,000 men to oppose about 120,000 besieging Ottomans. On 15 July 1683 Starhemberg refused an offer by the Turkish commander Kara Mustafa Pasha to capitulate, counting on the speedy arrival of an Imperial army, sent by the Habsburg emperor Leopold I who had fled his residence, and the strength of city walls which had been fortified after the first Ottoman Siege of Vienna in 1529. When after two months the relief army under the command of Polish king Jan Sobieski arrived in the first half of September, Vienna was on the brink of collapse. Its walls were breached by Turkish sappers who had tunnelled under the walls, packed the tunnels with gunpowder, and detonated the explosive charges. Finally, on 12 September, 80,000 Polish, Venetian, Bavarian, and Saxon troops attacked the Turks and were able to defeat them in the Battle on the Kahlenberg."
