Close up of the Dell 2408 WFP grey gradient using an Nvidia 6800GS with the latest forceware drivers (169.21)
My self-guided project was using the same picture and altering it in photoshop however, focusing specifically on how I could manipulate and change the original colors within the photograph whether it was the subjects or background. Prior to my project I spent some time observing the art concept of color theory and how the color wheel works. This influenced me to incorporate a concept with color into my project although, I wanted my project to also be photoshop based as I haven’t done a lot of projects that way. This project reflects my personal likes as I love seeing how different colors look with each other and also how gradients work. Some new skills I learned over the course of this was: learning how to use the gradient tool and map thoroughly, how to effectively use curves and black & white adjustments, and how to use clipping masks in photoshop. I also gained knowledge of how the blending modes in photoshop work. At first I couldn’t figure out how to keep the shadows form the original picture when using the gradient tool so I learned how to use the gradient map which kept more of the originals shadows intact for background changes. My project was successful in the sense that I learned new photoshop skills and knowledge along with getting to brush up on my old skills. If I were doing this project again I would put focus into working with added shadows rather than using only the original ones and focusing only on color manipulation.
i want see what i could do with gmic starting from a little render of a simple gradient
and i got almost lost i could do much more then i hoped and i love some of them almost as selfstanding images
Taken from the train station where I usually walk by daily. Like a "gradient effect" in Photoshop, the sky over the railway "rendered" the most natural and beautiful colors I've ever seen.
Assignment: Extreme Processing.
OK, I am not much of a processor. I crop, I sharpen, I sometimes lighten shadows or adjust contrast. That's about it. So this assignment took me way outside my comfort zone! I decided to take one photo and process it three different ways. I don't know if any of them are really "extreme" - but they are for me!
For this one I used the gradient map filter. i chose one of the options (I don't know which) that gave this blue/yellow contrast. I sort of like the yellows, but it is so unrealistic for me that I don't think it is something I would choose to do most of the time.
this Zauberball was really fun to knit from, I loved watching the greens change :)
(also, wow, my knitting looks so super sloppy before blocking... ahh the magic of blocking :) )
