Got some golden light on the flooded Red River this night. That is a house boat across the river at the flooded Boat Dock on the Shreveport side of the river. Boat ramps and parks under water.
Bottle-fed cuties wanting their milk.
They get 2 liters of milk replacer three times a day and it never seems enough.
You've got to get yourself together
You've got stuck in a moment and you can't get out of it
Oh love look at you now
You've got yourself stuck in a moment
and you can't get out of it

CN L503 with the GTW heritage SD70M-2 heads east through Munster Indiana on former GTW rails now CN's South Bend Subdivision. Munster is also my hometown where I was born and raised, so this was a really special catch for me to do.
I had expected a fine morning but didn't expect the mist. Otherwise I would have got out of the house even faster. But this was the almost weird sight as I headed over from Biddulph Moor towards Rudyard. Strangely beautiful.
I was in two minds to crop the foreground out. What do you think?
RKO_9617. Male Kingfisher taking a bath!
It's so difficult to take a decent sharp shot of a fast flying kingfisher, not to mention a handheld shot of a kingfisher coming out of the water!
This capture is far from perfect, but it gives you a good idea of the dynamics and challenges to capture the moment! Timing, light, focus and settings.....!?

After being infected by a Spanish Corona beer, I had to be vaccinated at least for two times with a big can of Astra beer vaccine.... But I hate the side effects! ;-) Got dizzy, Miss Lizzy!
Got lucky with some fly-overs of these guys folks, and are always nice to see flying and be able to photograph them in flight.
Thanks for stopping by everyone, and thanks so much for all the kind words and well wishes, always appreciated.
Welcome Swallow (Hirundo neoxena)
As I wandered home from the wetlands a number of Swallows were darting around the Woodville Oval. So despite recent failures to catch one in flight and the very dull light I decided to see if I could get a half decent shot. Not up to the standard of my Flickr mate Rodger's ( www.flickr.com/photos/62434662@N05/ ) Swallow images but I am reasonably happy with this one and one other of the ten I shot.
Great Egret perched up in a tree, contently preening and scratching on a foggy morning. We've had a lot of those lately.
We got in the car with our friends Rob and Karen and everyone said..... Paul, you want to take pictures of the colors, no?
Of course I did, but after minutes on the road, people usually give you that eyes rolled back look, as you stop every couple hundred yards looking for that good light, proper approach, perfect shot.
But something actually changed this day. All three of my companions started enjoying the outing, as I showed them early results on the display screen, and they actually started pulling out their cell phones, AND TAKING PICTURES.
Haven't seen any of their finished shots, but I'm pretty happy with many of mine.....
Elk at the Olympic Game Farm in Sequim, WA are quit friendly and looking for the bread they know you bought at the gate when you came in. DSC_4092-HDR-1

Got this ginormously beautiful fellow this morning 5 minutes before coming back home from my early birding trip. A giant pleasure to close my trek.
Thanks a trillion (that's a lot) for coming here to all.

This lady blackbird was quite bold in coming to my friend's house begging for raisins.
Nessie has 3 pairs of blackbirds that loiter around hoping for titbits, but this is the only one that doesn't fly away as soon as you open the door.
