this happy robin had a belly full of worms. He was easily catching and eating them from my lawn very close to where the dogs and I were sitting. He wasn't worried about us at all.

A difficult shot to take as my tripod was not high enough to peek above the fence line. Camera was hand held on top of the metal fence with fingers under to level the shot and fingers pressing down on top to hold things still. Lens resting on fence top. Sydney was suffering from bush fire smoke haze, which allowed beams of light to appear. The Vivid festival is an annual Sydney event.

American White Pelicans, below the spillway for the dam at De Pere, Wisconsin USA on the Fox River.
This image from the end of last summer, but the pelicans are back and I will be getting after them soon.
I brought my granddaughter to Bird Kingdom, Niagara Falls. Her highlight was seeing a pheasant have a poop!

We stumbled across the Hood River Railroad operating after noticing the engine was missing from its location downtown the night before. We arrived at the south end of the line at Odell just as he was making his train up. Here the train is navigating a horseshoe curve back to the south across highway 35. In a mile or so, the train will reverse directions at a switchback and shove the rest of the way into Hood River.

They get 2 liters of milk replacer three times a day and it never seems enough.
Got some golden light on the flooded Red River this night. That is a house boat across the river at the flooded Boat Dock on the Shreveport side of the river. Boat ramps and parks under water.
For years this location on the FEC has been very high on my want list but the distance and FEC's light traffic has kept it in the someday file. With the promise of clear skies from a cold front though a friend and I drove through the night to get to the FEC for a 3 day trip. We got to Stuart just before sunrise and after shooting a sillouhete of 210 we set up for FEC 109 from the US 1 bridge. However on that first day everything went totally wrong, the train ran at the worst time when the US 1 bridge shadow almost completely covered the bridge and the train had a dreaded LNG set with all baretables upfront, all the effort for nothing....The second day of the trip we set out for round 2 at Stuart. This time everything went much better, the train was later allowing the shadows to clear, the power was better and the train had a nice set of rock cars upfront. Bucket list checkmark! FEC 109 at Stuart, Florida.

It's so difficult to take a decent sharp shot of a fast flying kingfisher, not to mention a handheld shot of a kingfisher coming out of the water!
This capture is far from perfect, but it gives you a good idea of the dynamics and challenges to capture the moment! Timing, light, focus and settings.....!?
