A black-crowned night heron with its catch at the local ponds. ✔️
Night herons stand still at the water's edge and wait to ambush prey. This fellow stood there for about 10 minutes testing my patience. Eventually, both of us got rewarded.

I got a bit over excited yesterday when at least 6 Crossbills landed in my birch trees, they left and came back 3 times but the light was very poor unfortunately. This is the third time in my entire time here since 1997 that I've had them in my garden. I also badly filmed them for a few minutes and caught their lovely call.
Sunlit Tulips with trees and sky in background. Still loving the 105 with the D300.
Used a polarizer filter on camera and sharpened for web. Speed lights are pointing a way from tulips and did not contribute to shot.
Got my hard drive photo's back - at last - so thought i'd dig some archive stuff out - this is the sun set we saw on our cruise on the Gulf of Mexico whilst we stayed at the Florida Keys last year. Hope you like it

The St. Louis Blues won their first ever Stanley Cup championship in professional ice hockey over the Boston Bruins. Named after Lord Stanley of Preston, Governor General of Canada who enjoyed ice hockey, the silver cup has been present annually since 1892 -- and from the Blues' first season in 1967 until now, St Louis had never won. A great weekend to everyone!
this happy robin had a belly full of worms. He was easily catching and eating them from my lawn very close to where the dogs and I were sitting. He wasn't worried about us at all.
Got my crafty on and painted a backdrop last night with my younger daughter. The flowers are leftover from Mother's Day given to me by my older daughter.
I brought my granddaughter to Bird Kingdom, Niagara Falls. Her highlight was seeing a pheasant have a poop!

Got out early today in the dark to hike for some sunrise photos along the Gunpowder River here in Maryland.
We stumbled across the Hood River Railroad operating after noticing the engine was missing from its location downtown the night before. We arrived at the south end of the line at Odell just as he was making his train up. Here the train is navigating a horseshoe curve back to the south across highway 35. In a mile or so, the train will reverse directions at a switchback and shove the rest of the way into Hood River.
