Here's how it is really interesting: first, shift to the satellite view, and then zoom in on the area of the map where Rita shifted from a Category 4 to a Category 5 and back again. You can see that the shift corresponds to the level of the sea floor.

The new version of the Google Maps/APRS mashup on DB0ANF's website. The easily navigated history is very cool. They keep data for about two months or so, so you have time to make screen shots of important info. APRS tracking from my truck is done using a Byonics TinyTrak4 and a Kenwood G707A radio.

What happens when you click the location link LiveJournal adds automatically to your entries, when the location in question is given as "at my desk, about to hit the shower before bed."
Needless to say, I'm neither in the US nor Japan. :)
* Fly 2 G.E ( Flies to the current location in Google Earth if you have it installed)
* Add Place marker (puts a pin in the map)
* Measure Distance (measures distance between last 2 place markers, and also a cumulative total between all place markers)
* Display Lat/Lon List - Displays the latitude and longitude coordinates of all the place markers as a CSV list
* Show route - This will display a route between the last 2 placed markers.
* a CSV (comma separated values) file
* a Google Earth KML path file. When opened in Google Earth, if you click the "play" button, the "camera" will fly smoothly along the path you have created.
More and more shops are showing this sticker proudly - that they can be found on google maps - no Yell/Yellow pages sticker though!

This is the new Dixons Store Group warehouse near Newark on Trent, beside the A1.
A note on scale: this building is 300m x 215m. The NDC in the other picture is 250m x 100m. The returns warehouse where I worked was 100m x 40m (all sizes from Google maps measuring tool).
Note 2: This is an old picture. There is now another warehouse the same size the other side of the lorry park.
