Although Google Maps has not added in street information for this area yet, using other maps, my memory, and a few landmarks, I found my old house (apartment, rather), in Tokyo. I was seven when my family moved back to the States, so the memory part is a little shaky.
In August of 2001, Patti and I did a fly-in backback trip to the Wrangell-St. Elias mountains of Alaska. Google Maps gave me the opportunity to dig out all the maps again. Joy!

The mouth of the Salinas Valley as seen on Google Earth. I boosted the colors as you can see. The Salinas Valley is referred to as the nation's 'Salad Bowl' because everything you would find on a salad is grown in the local soil.
This is the map itself. I have taken the feed from my blog about friedsland and piped it through ws.geonames.org/rssToGeoRSS. With the total url which you copy and paste into the search bar of googlemaps.com you get the results.
What happens here is.
- I have posts which mention various locations in Friesland
- The GeoRSS parses the names out of the feed, Googlemaps then finds the locations. It is very cool and it has a 60-70% success rate. One entry ends up on New York, but I mentioned the New York Times on that Post. Another entry ends up in South Africa, I have not figured that one out yet
Automatically follows ISS and Discovery - the map is moving.

We started at the Vista Lake parking lot on Highway 93 below Castle Junction. The trail starts out going downhill for about 1.25 Km to the far end of Vista Lake, and then uphill for about 570 M and another 3.5 Km to Arnica Lake.
I was looking up the address for an old colleague who works at "Dreamfish" and the address is 3150 18th Street. So I look it up on Google Street View and this is the image that appears. I'm guessing this isn't his office! And look at all the other businesses on that list that are supposed to be stuck in there :)

Google Maps for Android has just picked up an update. Head to the Google Play Store and you’ll find the newest version of Google Maps with improved support for Android Wear notifications.

CMS driven Google Maps application developed for Graig FC. Football Clubs playing in the South Wales Amateur League can find directions from their club to any other club in the league. Clubs are represented on the map with a marker, routes are marked on the map with a blue overlay and a step by step set of directions are given when a route is selected.
Google has marked names of places in Arunachal Pradesh in Mandarin, creating furore in the Northeast.
Google Maps Germany (just Germany?) has a new feature: show the walking route and distance! It is only 4,180 km from Hannver to Thessaloniki.... :-)
