I just noticed an optical illusion with this photo where your eyes keep trying to focus the image and it looks like it's shrinking.

This is a picture of the Radio Tower (Funkturm) here in Berlin during festival of light 2014. I decided to create a composition based on a) a long exposure shot of the Radio Tower, b) a shot of a star scape over Berlin processed with StarStax and c) a picture of the super moon I shot some time ago. The post processing and blending of all the three shots was done with Photoshop, the pictures where taken with my Canon EOS 40D.

Our chicks had their trackers fitted about 6 weeks ago and to our great excitement we have been able to get some downloads from them. At the moment we are only doing these weekly but the patterns have already shown how the chicks are developing in confidence. This map is the one of Big Yan, 12’s first tentative flights after fledging on July 20th. For much of the time he was in the nest but the orange lines show us he went up and sat on the open fellside above and down to a tree on the other side of the A592. So, for the first time we were able to know exactly where a chick had gone when he flew out of our sight. What amazing technology! (Can you spot Bassenthwaite Lake at the top left with the Derwent River leading out of it? And the main road and forest roads?)
DDC "Selfie" - I have no doubt that Shyla would not look at the camera if she took a selfie - that's her way!

I was checking my old photos on my Google Photos yesterday and saw this image in my "For You" folder. Typically, Google Assistant would scan your folders and decide on which one to work on. When it 's done, she would deposit her edit into that folder. Apparently, she has decided on this particular frame that I took a few years ago, and I didn't realize the Assistant edited image has been sitting in that folder since then. So here it is. It looks a little fake, doesn't it? Seems like my photography has taken another turn where AI is making things happen to me.

I would not be able to identify this lake if it wasn't for the GPS coordinates on my phone. What started out as a day trip from Queens, NYC to Storm King Art Center, turned into a zig-zagging tour of the New York State countryside, with long detours on small NYS roads (#301, in this case.) Luckily, I was able to pull off the road here at Canopa Lake in Clarence Fahnestock Memorial State Park. -- November 4, 2018

It's been a while since I last post. It's been crazy the last few months and didn't get a chance to get out much. Not to mention doing my solo road trip. And it's also beena very long time haven't see the beautiful dark night sky as the milky way season have start few months ago. This shot was taken a few night ago. Luckily got a few day room to head to the Rockies again. Although it was only a few nights spent in the park. But did got some great night conditions. Anyone who have been to Bow Lake will certainly recognize the iconic look of this place. And this particular night reminded me of my first ever solo trip to this place back in 2013 trying to capture the dark night sky. And the image that was in my head is finally giving me the right condition on this night! I was so glad I did drove up to Bow Lake that night!!

By way of comparison, I also took 7 images with my IPhone 14 Pro Max and waited for Google Photos to automatically composite them. This it did within 24 hours and this shot is the result. Because of the width unfortunately it clipped the top of the mountain in the centre of the photo.
It wasn't really possible to get back a little further to avoid this happening as there is a barbed wire fence in the foreground that I was trying to avoid including.
I edited the image in Luminar Neo, though I didn't bother to remove the transmission wires in this image as in the previous Sony Alpha 7 IV panorama.
The thing that always strikes me when I travel up to Gloucester from Nabiac is the extent of forest clearing that has gone on over many years. This image, and the one in the comment below demonstrate how significant it has been.
Its no wonder Australia is a world leader in the rate of species hurtling toward extinction.

I don't normally go in for that HDR malarkey........,most of the shots I've seen look way overcooked.....but
I took this with my phone cam,put it in Snapseed and pressed the HDR-a-like button and this came out.I have to admit I like it.....lol ;)
