In this November 2018 view, KCS SD70ACe #4023 leads manifest MPASH-03 north out of Beaumont, TX in beautiful morning golden light. Even by this time, 4023 was one of the last remaining KCS ACes dressed in their original "grey ghost" scheme- an added bonus with the grey end-cab switcher 3rd out.

Although 4023 still retains its grey scheme (the final remaining ACe in grey), it has been stored due to mechanical failure for many months now, effectively marking the end of the grey ghost scheme on KCS ACes.
