Harvest Mice (Micromys minutus) My last post for 2024 - see you next year!

Isle of Skye

One of the many Isle of Skye sunset photos which haven’t been posted before. It’s here now because of a comment left by Vince on a previous upload on Christmas Day, on this photo.

Quote:-

I think a shot like this would be an ideal shot to post on new years eve with the sun going down on the year everybody will be glad to see the back of.

So here it is, I know the photo is from 2016 and we could have never have ever imagined then how 2020 would alter everyone’s lives in such a massive way. It’s New Years Eve and tonight the sun will set on this awful year. When it rises again it will be 2021, here’s wishing everyone a Happy New Year with better days ahead.

Thank you for you visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.

Some old smoke houses or Tobacco shacks on the way to Waterford ON. We have not been down there to the antiques place in a long time. Just figured it is too cramped and risky.

Be safe.

Goodbye, old friend. Rush out with the tide. Be free and dare the burning clouds. Bath in the warm sunlight. I shall miss my faithful companion on these shores. Back into the light, you must now go. From here, my journey grows too dark.

This morning was mostly overcast. I figured it would remain cold and grey. However, for a just a minute, the sun broke through. And then, it was gone. This time, using the Carl Zeiss Flektogon 20mm on Driftwood Beach for the first time.Continuing the "Boneyard Journeys."

Cathal Coughlan died just a few days ago on May 18th 2022, at the age of 61 following a long illness.

He was among the foremost singers and songwriters of his generation, his formidable body of work stretching over more than 40 years from Microdisney and the Fatima Mansions to the series of solo albums and collaborations that followed.

Known principally for his involvement in rock, he saw himself as belonging to the wider tradition of chanson: lyric-driven songs. His commercial success was modest, partly due to his ambivalence about the music business and partly because of his uncompromising approach; but his sonorous baritone and his songs – intelligent, literate, emotionally complex and seldom other than searing – made him a figure not just influential and respected but also, by many, revered, with the 1985 release The Clock Comes Down the Stairs, Microdisney’s artistic peak, widely regarded as among the greatest albums ever released.

Criminally underrated by the mainstream media …. but hugely appreciated and loved by those willing to listen.

Listen ….

Today is the last day of Autumn here in US. Now winter is coming to erase those magnificent colors of the season. But all the seasons has their beauty, welcome Winter ❄ tomorrow!

Since I was young I learned to respect nature. For me, nature is a gift of the Creator so that we believe in Him more and worship Him alone.

Photography so strengthened this respect in me that I feel nature waving me goodbye whenever I turn my back for my return home journey.

Do you feel as such? I wonder.

Or hello. Who knows which way we are going anymore. Terrific Tuesday to you.

One of my common loon babies I followed all summer long, now a juvenile, taking flight. This made my morning! There was a lot of mist on the lake so couldn't believe my eyes when he popped up in front of my kayak when I thought he was already gone. His parents left quite a while ago. After a few minutes of gawking at each other he let off a cool sound before lift off... almost as if he was saying goodbye....

~ Did you see the frightened ones

Did you hear the falling bombs

Did you ever wonder

Why we had to run for shelter

When the promise of a brave new world

Unfurled beneath a clear blue sky

Did you see the frightened ones

Did you hear the falling bombs

The flames are all long-gone

But the pain lingers on

Goodbye blue sky ~
