On Tuesday night we came home to find Oprah in an odd position in her bed. We tried to coax her out but she wouldn't get up, and finally we picked her up and put her on the floor. She couldn't stand, couldn't sit up. Wednesday we called her neurologist and even though he had three surgeries that day he found some time to look at her and confirmed our fears: her brain tumor had almost certainly come back. In March it will be four years since she had the initial tumor removed. Dr. McGuire had told us when he did the first surgery that the tumor could come back in 2 to 4 years. But even though I had been bracing myself for this it was still a shock. Oprah has developed a lot of other issues over the past 4 years, and the first brain surgery was hard enough on her as it was, so we decided against surgery this time.
Today a very sweet man came to our house and gave Opie the shots while she was lying on Dan's chest. She went very peacefully. We are worn out with grief, but relieved.
She was an amazing cat.

The weather today fits my mood somehow - more than a week of rain now and it saps the energy. I shot this from the car window, call me a sucker for the silhoutte of objects against the sky or maybe I am trying to say something here..
Who knows whats going on in my mind sometimes, I dont. Whatever the case I kind of like the desolate empty dead feeling to this - that leaden overcast sky.
Shot in color (what there is) and then converted to black and white with some curves tweaking to achieve the right feel.
Due to a general disinterest, mostly my own, this stream will be discontinued soon. Thanks to everyone who commented or viewed my photos both old and new!
