The owner of the Three Dog Bakery in West Hartford Center hugs a friend and customer goodbye as they close their doors after 11 years.
These thin, delicate daisies are the last sign of summer - and the first sign of fall here in Southeast Texas.. When you see these popping up everywhere along the roads and in sunny patches in the woods - you know that the first cool nights are not far behind.. And the bumblebees know that. They are out gathering as much pollen as they can before the days turn wet and cold, and there is precious little blooming.. It's as if the table has been set for one last banquet, with more than they can possibly eat - and when they have had their fill, they will do as this little guy is doing - and waddle their way back to the hive and settle in for the lean times, content with knowing that they could not have done any more than they have done...
Goodbye, little friend - see you in the Spring!
Our little Chloe has passed away. She suffered a massive internal bleed and died on December 14, 2007 aged just 13 weeks. The Vet is not sure what caused it as there was no injury nor any obvious trauma. Its likely she had a weakness somewhere that eventually caused the bleed. We miss her terribly. She was only with us for a short time but made a huge impact. Goodbye little one.
On Saturday 11th July, Plantsbrook School opened its doors to the public for an event celebrating the school building's rich past and its exciting future, where the school building will be demolished with an all-new school being gradually built in its place. Being a former pupil as well as a photographer/journalist sent to cover the event, I set about diligently capturing as much of the school on camera as possible. It's astounding to think that by 2017, everything in these photographs will be gone...

Did you see the frightened ones
Did you hear the falling bombs
Did you ever wonder
Why we had to run for shelter
When the promise of a brave new world
Unfurled beneath a clear blue sky
" 即將落幕的夕陽
在海面映上惆悵的剪影
等著 被航行的船隻 安靜。劃過
劃過的剪影 不再惆悵
落幕的夕陽 不再孤單 "
願我的朋友們 能將今年所有不愉快的 輕輕放下
釋懷的我們 在倒數的最後十五秒鐘
用微笑 迎接嶄新的 另一年
Happy New Year to all my friends...
Let go your regrets and sorrows,
Smile and say goodbye to sunset,
And greet the freshness of a New Dawn.
We had to say Goodbye to our very precious baby girl one year ago today. We miss her terribly, we still cry, & think of her often. We think of the wonderful memories we have of her & feel so blessed that she was such a special part of our family. We especially missed her this past Christmas remembering how she always searched underneath the Christmas tree for treats wrapped for her. She is now at peace in our backyard where she loved to run, play & chase the squirrels away. We will always love our little Chelsea Girl & she will be in our Hearts forever.
R.I.P. Champion Dalroc's Duchess Lady in Waiting "Billie" October 30, 1996 - February 26, 2010
Billie came to me at 6 months old. Burdened with a ridiculous name, I looked for the name of a "Lady" who maybe wasn't quite so ladylike. So she was named for "Lady Day": Billie Holiday. She had lived in a home full of dalmatians, never been socialized with other dogs or people or trained to do much of anything. She had a steep learning curve, as she rode in cars, took obedience classes, met dogs who weren't dalmatians, made friends with poodles and golden retrievers and cats, played with chickens and ran and ran and ran. Billie had her quirks but she was a sweet girl who only wanted to be loved. Her best friend was a SiameseX cat who slept with her every night and many days. Sleep well, Billie babe. You were a good girl.
After 2 year struggle with cancer, our beloved grandmother sadly came to pass yesterday morning. She meant the world to all of us, and she will be deeply missed. Mamie, you can have your rest now. Thank you for everything

One little idea I had at school.. :)
Good bye Paris..
The Eifel Tower and the streets of paris.
Nikon D70, Tamron AF 70-300mm 1:4-5,6, Photoshop CS4 and very much patience! :D
For the new, fancy and enhanced version of my pet project, IE6 gets the minimal approach.
Update: I've added Andy Clarke's Universal IE6 CSS to replace the gruesome Comic Sans.
On Tuesday night we came home to find Oprah in an odd position in her bed. We tried to coax her out but she wouldn't get up, and finally we picked her up and put her on the floor. She couldn't stand, couldn't sit up. Wednesday we called her neurologist and even though he had three surgeries that day he found some time to look at her and confirmed our fears: her brain tumor had almost certainly come back. In March it will be four years since she had the initial tumor removed. Dr. McGuire had told us when he did the first surgery that the tumor could come back in 2 to 4 years. But even though I had been bracing myself for this it was still a shock. Oprah has developed a lot of other issues over the past 4 years, and the first brain surgery was hard enough on her as it was, so we decided against surgery this time.
Today a very sweet man came to our house and gave Opie the shots while she was lying on Dan's chest. She went very peacefully. We are worn out with grief, but relieved.
She was an amazing cat.
