I will be moving house for the next few days and it may take the weekend for the new lines soooo I will catch up with everyone in a few days, hopefully sooner . I am moving to a new area and, crossing fingers, dragonflies and bee butts are waiting there for me!

Last day of summer, and what a great summer its been
I've realized that as long as I have interesting food and delightful conversations with some killer caffeine thrown in I am a very happy person
Nothing is perfect but there are still so many postives to remember about each day: a smile from a stranger, a hug from a friend, a piece of dark chocolate, a sip of red wine, melted cheese spilling out from a crisp sandwich, an unexpected energy jolt at mile 16, a million lights in the New York sky, the perfect ending to an exquisite novel, moments all to myself that I cherish
But now school....
I'm worried that will mess up the equation, throw me completely off balance again
But maybe i'm stronger this time
Maybe I can hold my ground and keep my smile and continue to wake up already loving each new day

This is the last photo ever taken with my good old 28-80mm lens. It has served me well for the last 8 or 9 years, but today it was over.
While adjusting the tripod for the next photo, I accidentally bumped the tripod and it fell to the ground - *smash*.
On the positive side, I've got the perfect excuse for buying a new lens!

I'm saying goodbye to 2009 feeling a little stronger, a little wiser, and a little more confident than I did a year ago, on so many levels.
So many unexpected turns, so many challenges, so much learning, so much growth.
It has been quite a year.
A huge, and very sincere thanks to all my Flickr friends for your continued support and encouragement this past year. I hope to continue learning from you all in the new year.

Goodbye Carlo
D2 had her last pony riding lesson today. When she was finished she went around, saying goodbye to all the different ponies and horses she had ridden over the years. Her last hug was for Carlo, the old mini-pony, the first she ever rode when she was a 4 year old.
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is the seventh studio album by English singer-songwriter Elton John, first released in 1973 as a double LP. The album has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide[2] and is widely regarded as John's magnum opus. Among the 17 tracks, the album contains the hits "Candle in the Wind", US number-one single "Bennie and the Jets", "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" and "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting" plus live favourites "Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding" and "Harmony".
It was recorded at the Studio d'enregistrement Michel Magne at the Château d'Hérouville in France after problems recording at the intended location in Jamaica. The move provided John and his band with a great deal of creative inspiration and an abundance of quality material was produced, leading to the decision to release the work as a double album.
In 2020, the album was ranked number 112 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.[

I really sad when want to say goodbye where I love the culture and everyone I met in Little Washington. This is an amazing trip where I came twice and love here more compare to Washington Dulles.

and hello to the notorious E18 error... The lens on my Ixus 50 jammed last night, shortly after I took this. A bit of fiddling at least meant I could use it but it's very, very flaky and needs to have the lens semi-manually tucked away when it's turned off. I doubt I'll actully chuck it out, as it seems to malfunction in interesting ways now... Bought an Ixus 70 at lunchtime, so normal service will resume shortly.
This van has been at the lemon longer then me and any of the other current staff. It was bought in early 2007 before the company even started by Tom. When The Big Lemon started in mid 2007 the van was used to store supply's along with the waste cooking oil fuel for the buses. After doing this for four and a half years today we said goodbye to the mighty van as it left for scrap. Its seen here loaded onto the back of a truck before making the trip to the scrapyard. It was the longest serving memeber of the lemon fleet.
Before the transformation of Goslin into the Cousins Center for Science & Innovation, Oglethorpe science students and faculty said goodbye in a most creative way.
In my mother's house, for the end of the year, she would sweep the old year out the back door with an old broom,,,then we would all troop thru the snow from the back door to the front door banging loudly on pots and pans, and sweep in the new year with a new broom. So here I am sweeping out the end of my 365 with an old broom.....Loved every minute of it and cannot wait to start anew!!!!
