I've made my mind. I'm leaving Flickr.

You may ask why. There's couple reasons. Firstly, I'm really tired of how the society looks like here (and on most such websites). You visit someone's profile, comment regulary and that person never even tries contacting with you or returning back. I would even accept a comment saying the person wouldn't visit me due to ___ (put whatever word you like). Secondly, most of comments are empty. I'm not going to be any special, because I lost motiviation myself with such an attitude, though I still tried saying something meaningful. I've always hoped for a constructive critique - I got it only from few of you and that I'm thankful for. Thirdly, logging to Flickr is a real pain in the ass. They couldn't help me solve the problem with staying logged in with Google account despite my several messages. They simply ignored me by replying with FAQ answers. It irritated me and helped me make this decision. At last, but not least - I'm a bit terrified my pictures might be used without my knowledge due to CC license whole Flickr is put under. I read a story about a pair who experienced such a thing, nothing nice.

So, I'm going to move my portfolio, start a new chapter. Probably by creating an individual photoblog. Who knows, maybe finally try selling pictures, like some of you suggested?

Thank you everyone for contributing into existance of this Flickr of mine. It means a lot to me, all your messages, favorites, visits. I will keep you in mind, maybe visit once in a while. It was a great adventure to me. I will miss you! Thank you.

At Freddie's Beach Bar.

Before the transformation of Goslin into the Cousins Center for Science & Innovation, Oglethorpe science students and faculty said goodbye in a most creative way.

This photo is the turning point in my children's, new partner and my life as we said a well meant goodbye as we set off on the road to start building our new lives. It doesn't seem much but we were on the motorway leaving the hell of the last few years behind us for the last time and seems the sky was looking down on us and smiling :)

The story behind to the turning point is the fact i separated from my husband who was violent to my children and myself who left us for another woman we lost our house and ended up in a hell hole of a place to live where we were viciously attacked day and night by a local gang as we were not from the area we had property stolen , vandalised and set on fire (including our car) my children were beaten and attacked if they went outside it was like living in a horror story that we couldn't escape ........... but here is our escape and were all loving it !!

Day 279-Goodbye April!

A few weeks ago now, I got these at the grocery store, on impulse buy. I scored some good ones, yeah?

Kind of a sad day, Bob Hoskins died. He was Eddie Valiant from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. And Mario from Super Mario Brothers: The Movie. And that is how Americans (some) know him. He had Parkinson's and effectivly retired a few years ago. Sad Day.

Goodbye, April.

The Chihuly glass show, which was extended two full months in St. Louis, ends January 1st. Hand held, ambient lighting, at 1/30th of a second. This is where Minolta's built in image stabilization really helps. I was able to keep my ISO at 400 to minimize digital noise.

Some collection of completed orders. It is not often possible to put together so many of our creations that has been made in a while. This morning before saying "Goodbye" to our work we had a chance to document this happen.

I used to love Flickr, the people on here and all the groups etc.

but things have changed. The system no longer suits me and the

new ownership definitely doesn’t appeal to me.

So this is my farewell image. I’ll be closing my account in the

next few days. I didn’t want to leave without saying goodbye.

To all the people I met on here (and in real life), I want to say

thank you for all the likes and the fun we had. Thanks for the

inspiration and support. Keep doing what you do and keep enjoying it.

Goodbye!

Hello Friends!

I have been away for one week of holiday in the beautiful Island of Elba.

One day this seagull landed on the beach, just in front of me and Stefano: he had just one foot and looked very familiar with people. We gave him some organic biscuits with cacao and nuts, and he showed his appreciation by kindly posing for me. Luckily I had my old Lumix with me!

I will spend the next days trying to catch you up: I've been away from Flickr and other things I love for too long now, and I've decided it's time for a change. Life and what makes life better first! I hope my bosses will understand my new philosophy now :D

I wish you all the best, love

Goodbye Shad

Students throughout the Washington D.C. region will be helping return American shad to the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers. Since 1996, over 50 schools from Washington D.C., Alexandria, Fairfax, Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties have raised American shad in their schools and released them at sites below Great Falls, at Leesylvania State Park, and in the upper Anacostia River. The fish swim over 12,000 miles in their lifetime, leaving their release site in the Potomac River to swim out to sea and then returning to where they were born to lay their own eggs. hanks in part to these students’ efforts, American shad are returning to the Potomac River in increasing numbers. In addition to raising and releasing shad, students are cleaning up their schoolyards and area streams to improve the waterways for their returning fish.

Goodbye Herky Bird

Three Royal Air Force C-130 Hercules flew a retirement flight around the UK today. The first RAF Herc arrived in December 1966 and has been a faithful workhorse in every conflict theatre, latterly being replaced with the A400 and C-17.Hopefully these airframes will be sold off to other air forces.( credit to photographer and ADSB Exchange for the data )

I was driving with a friend yesterday when the news of Steve Job's death hit the news. I was instantly floored and saddened, what a great loss. I've never personally met Mr. Jobs, but his innovations have changed my life. Apple products have allowed someone like me, a laymen, to navigate, explore and take advantage of all the resources the tech world has to offer. I've been able to keep up and grow as technology advances. Thank you Steve Jobs.

When a family member dies in Chinese culture we wear a patch of black fabric on our sleeve to mourn the loss. I thought it would be a nice symbolic gesture to put black tape over my Apple as a sign of respect and gratitude for what Steve Jobs has given us. Please feel free to repost this.

Phương Tâm Rất cám ơn vợ chồng chị đã chăm sóc và thương yêu bé Billy.

Today, a friend of mine told me that my Billy die 2 weeks ago. He is 8 years old and he is the smartest paw I ever had. Although I know that day would come, and honestly that the part of my heart also die the day I gave him away, I still can't stop cying and missing him so badly :((

I am sorry Billy I never want to give you away. I am so sorry!!!

This is the second photo of my new series called Goodbye Toronto.

It was taken nearly a year ago at:

7:33 PM on May 03, 2007 near the Toronto Harbour

This was the one of the nights I said goodbye to one of the greatest cities in the world and left Canada to embarked on a journey trough Europe and beyond for a 'Year in france' ©

I've written all about it in my daily blogs and have a great ( Made on a Mac) website ha ha (link in my profile), which has tons of photographs that I add to weekly from my thousands of shots I've taken through my time exploring Europe.

The ELTON JOHN 'Farewell Yellow Brick Road' tour came to Belgium (Antwerp Sport Palace) on 27 & 28 May, 2023.

With an immense oeuvre like that of ELTON JOHN, the British Rocket Man has said goodbye. As a result, it only dawned on the way back that genuine classics such as 'Nikita' and 'Sacrifice' were banned from the set, just like 'Don't Go Breaking My Heart' or the stunning 'Song for Guy'. And the Disney fans had to do without 'Circle of Life'. Looking back, we feel a wave of disillusionment pounding against the ventricles of the heart. But believe us: Elton John juggled hits so skillfully that you never got bored.

From an incredibly strong version of 'Rocket Man' over the homage to Aretha Franklin in 'Border Song' to an ode to Marilyn Monroe in 'Candle of the Wind', Elton managed to grab you by the throat. As a spectator you felt just as much emotional as amused. The battle between kitsch and art, between crying and hustle, was always decided in favor of Elton John.

And as always, Elton concluded by signing autographs, one for the fan in the 22nd row...

Thank you to all my Flickr friends and contacts who have supported me over the last 3 years.

Unfortunately due to the abysmal changes made this week at Flickr and my account subscription being due next week, I have decided to cancel my subscription and I have now moved to 500px. You will still find me under the name of LizzieB2003 and I look forward to seeing some of you there.

My Flickr account will remain open and I will come back occasionally to catch up with some of you but I will no longer be positing stuff here.

I wish all my friends here a great future and hope that you all continue to enjoy your photography.

Love Lizzie x

*I took this picture in equator, my last humanitarian trip! :)

During all my absence, I went to school (I'm in secondary 4, in Canada's school systeme), did some trip (Californy, Equator, etc.), played piano, did some sports, had a broken heart (argh) ... That's all I think! :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will always regret this moment... But I have to do it. I started to be on Flickr in november 2010 (four years ago!) thanks to my friends (FJRbratz.♥Miss.Floʀɑ.♥ and Platinum Feathers™) who shown me this wonderfull world of bratz (and pullip). I remember when I took my first photo of bratz, it was HORRIBLE!!!! hahaha

Well, this big experience will end right now for me. Not totally. I'm not gonna be able to definitly quit this society because I love it so much! But I'll never post pictures again and I'll not be there so much as before. And because of the contract, I think that my account will be delete.

One of the reason is that my contract on flickr ends today (to put more pics on my account). My parents don't want to renew it and I can understand that. Secondly, I didn't go on Flickr often. Maybe maximum one time a week (I'm sure that a lot of you didn't know that I always see what you do on Flickr haha ;) ). It wasn't because I don't like photography, no!! It's just that I didn't have time to do that..

You all was like a real family for me! I know that this seems like overkill, but It's the true. I know that I can count on you very time. You always supported me, you encourage me all the time, you'll help me in difficult times, I confided all my secrets, and you have even improved my English! Hahaha I'm not good at all in English I have to say that! (thanks Google Traduction too). I just want to take a moment to thank you all for everything you do for me. Each one has made some things that I am now a better person. Even if I never talk to you directly and you don't know who really I am. You changed my life. Thanks again. I will never forget you <3<3<3

And please, don't leave the beautifull world of flickr like me, it is you who make sure that it still exists. I'm not a good example at all.

Goodbye very one. Love you all,
