Hey everyone! Here's my third entry to the CCC this year. The Goblin Realm returns! This is a sequel build to this one from last year. I'd been dying to use these colors again, especially since I'd gotten some more yellowish green and medium lime parts in the last year. That being said, I still pretty much ran out of both colors. :P Overall I'm pretty happy with how this build turned out. Let me know what you think!
All glory to my Savior Jesus Christ!

At Goblin Valley State Park in Utah hundreds of sandstone formations are spread out over four acres. This one appears quite pleased with himself in his brilliant sunset colors.
The Aurora over San Rafael Reef is a mesmerizing natural spectacle that paints the sky above the rugged terrain of the San Rafael Reef with vibrant hues of green, purple, and pink. As the sun sets and night descends, charged particles from the sun collide with atoms in the Earth's atmosphere, creating a luminous display known as the aurora borealis. Against the backdrop of the ancient geological formations of the San Rafael Reef, this celestial dance becomes even more enchanting, blending the earthly with the cosmic in a breathtaking panorama.
Otherworldly Goblin Valley State Park in Utah. Did you know that part of Galaxy Quest was filmed here? One of my favs.
We spent 5 days in South East Utah, earlier this month. Fabulous trip! Went to 3 spots, Goblin Valley, Canyonlands and Arches NP
One of the many bizarre sandstone structures that populate the landscape at Goblin Valley State Park Utah.
I still find it quite interesting to see the different rock shapes. It was pretty amazing.

“I have found out that there ain't no surer way to find out whether you like people or hate them than to travel with them.” - Mark Twain
Goblin Valley State Park, Utah, is about equidistant from three major Western U.S. national parks: Arches, Capitol Reef and Canyonlands, and well worth visiting on the way. It is a jumbled fantasy of the most unusual shapes and forms among which the visitor is allowed to wander freely.
Goblin Valley State Park is a showcase of geologic history. Exposed cliffs reveal parallel layers of rock bared by erosion. Because of the uneven hardness of sandstone, some patches resist erosion much better than others. The softer material is removed by wind and water, leaving thousands of unique, geologic goblins. Water erosion and the smoothing action of windblown dust work together to shape the goblins. (Source: Goblin Valley State Park website)
If you can locate the walking figure in the lower right quadrant you will get a sense of the scale of the place.

Looking back to my first road trip with my first Mavic. Goblin Valley! Such a fun place to get an aerial perspective!
Show me the quiet, the hidden gems amongst the same sky we all exist within.
This beautiful location is worth the hour or so you will spend exploring all of the nooks and crannies that make up this tiny island.
Go explore Goblin's Knob while you still can.
Hubby posing amongst the goblins. This was once a prehistoric sea and the formations were carved by the ebb and flow of tides and waves.
This is a view of Goblin Valley if you hike around the valley of goblins on a trail that takes you to the back side. Here you can see all the goblins in the layer of earth that are still trapped there in their 'castle'.

Daytime Goblins
Goblin Valley State Park
Utah

Tucked away in the heart of Utah's San Rafael Desert, Goblin Valley State Park feels like stepping onto an alien planet. Its surreal landscape is filled with thousands of strange, mushroom-shaped rock formations—nicknamed “goblins”—that seem to rise from the earth like stone sentinels. These hoodoos, sculpted over millions of years by wind and water, create a natural playground of twisting passages and hidden alcoves.
This is the place where Goblins dwell
and leprechauns abound
where evil Trolls inhabit holes
and Elves are often found.

Did you know goblin sharks can project their jaws forward in a rubber-band like mechanism, the better to capture prey.

This is near Goblin Valley.
I liked the fragile rock filigree in the foreground and made a handheld shot with the wide angle lens and the Goblin Valley landscape in the background.
"Clap! Snap! the black crack!
Grib, grab! Pinch, nab!
And down, down to Goblin town
You go, my lad!
Clash, crash! Crush, smash!
Hammer and tongs! Knocker and gongs!
Pound, pound, down underground!
Ho, ho! my lad!
Swish, smack! Whip crack!
Batter and beat! Yammer and bleat!
Work, work! Nor dare to shirk,
While Goblins quaff, and Goblins laugh,
Round and round far underground
Below, my lad!" -The Hobbit
The Company of Thorin Oakenshield has been captured by the Goblins of the Misty Mountains, and now they are making a daring escape...
Okay everyone, here is one of my best MOCs yet! I'm really pleased with how it turned out (even though it was a little rushed).
Here is my entry for the RPG Fantasy Adventure category. This is my final entry to the CBC 2017.
I'd love to hear what everyone thinks about this, so please drop a comment! More pictures, or portraits on the way!
