Goblin Valley, ein kleiner aber sehr außergewöhnlicher Park – und zugleich einer der letzten Geheimtipps im Südwesten der USA. Beeindruckend sind seine Steingebilde, die an Pilze oder – wie der Name schon sagt – Kobolde erinnern und in dieser Form wohl nicht nur an der Westküste, sondern weltweit einmalig sind.
Goblin Valley, a small but very unusual park - and at the same time one of the last insider tips in the southwest of the USA. Impressive are its stone formations, which are reminiscent of mushrooms or - as the name suggests - goblins and are probably unique in this form not only on the west coast, but worldwide.
I know I usually do original characters but poking through inventory I found the Spiderman Two Green Goblin outfit (crossed here with daddy's mask from the first Rami Spiderman) and decided it'd be fun to doff my cap to the OG's...

This jeep goes all out on the holidays and everyone always have to turn and look at the decoration on it. and the kids go nuts over it I have run into this jeep just about everyday and kids are always talking about it while their parents drag them by it not slowing down to let the kids really enjoy it. What a shame the world has goten that busy that people can't take time for their kids.

We visited Goblin Valley State Park in Utah. While there we hiked out to the Goblin's Lair which is a deep cave carved by erosion into the depth of a mountain. Of course, Wilbur had to climb down into it. Fortunately he made it back out of the lair unscathed.
Wide View of Goblin Valley, Utah. My first visit. Was lucky to have some high clouds move in to help make the sky more interesting. Amazing place.
The core of the Milky Way shines brightly over Goblin Valley on a stellar night ;-) I had to clean up some of the foreground as there seemed to be movement in some of the rocks... or were they goblins? This area has some of the best/ darkest night skies in the continental U.S.

The genesis of the formations that make up the army of goblins involves wind and water washing away the softer portions of the Entrada sandstone, deposits of sand and silt from highlands that ended up in a tidal flat. Here you can see some regular banding associated with different layers of shales, sandstones, and siltstones, which erode at different rates, isolating some columns with resistant caps (goblins).
Like the wicked witch of the west, who was not particularly good at resisting erosion, the goblins eventually yield to the elements and melt, shown by the individual in the foreground who seems to have lost its protective caprock. Sometimes the caprock is pushed off by beings who seem not to value nature and who lack any moral bearings.

Nothing ever goes easy for our wall-crawling friend; while he was able to catch up to the Goblin AND knock him off his glider - that ever-present Parker luck kicked in and the tackle knocked the pumpkin bomb free from the Goblin's hand which is now ignited and falling towards the ground and the civilians below...
Figured I may as well play a little more as long as I'm all dressed up already, right?
