As Halloween is in full swing, I must reveal the school goblins attend: the abandoned Fairview School with some modifications via the liquefy filter and a gradient. I think goblins would be happy here, don't you?

Stone Goblins

Devil’s Garden

Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument

Escalante, Utah

April 2023

The Devil's Garden in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument is a natural wonder that will leave you in awe. This rugged and remote area in Utah boasts a unique landscape of towering sandstone hoodoos, arches, and twisted rock formations that have been carved over millions of years by the forces of nature. As you hike through the otherworldly terrain, you'll feel as if you've been transported to another planet, with the red rock formations standing in stark contrast against the clear blue Utah sky. Devil's Garden is a must-visit destination for photographers or anyone seeking a sense of adventure and a deeper connection to the natural world.

The amazing wall of goblins there ... not an easy thing to overtake and attack. The goblins can be quite fierce ;)

Goblin Valley State Park, Utah

As the sun began its descent, casting shadows over the wet rainy land, Sir Ernis sensed a presence lurking in the darkness. He tightened his grip on his sword. His senses sharpening as the hairs on the back of his neck stood on end. A sudden rustling from behind sent a shiver down his spine.

Without warning, two menacing goblins emerged from the shadows, their glowing yellow eyes fixed on the knight. They bared their sharp white teeth, eager to to claim his possessions as their own.

EXPLORING

This afternoon I visited Goblins Knob at Frogmore by Tolla Crip.

Knubnik and his mount, Dire, search for their prey... Day 3676 Y11D24

Goblin Valley, located in eastern Utah, is a unique geological formation that is known for its eerie and otherworldly landscape. The valley is characterized by a vast collection of mushroom-shaped rock formations, known as hoodoos, which have been sculpted over millions of years by the forces of erosion. These hoodoos are made up of ancient layers of sandstone and mudstone, which were deposited during the Jurassic period when the area was covered by a shallow sea. Over time, the softer mudstone eroded away, leaving behind the harder sandstone pillars that give Goblin Valley its distinctive appearance. The valley is a testament to the power of natural forces and offers visitors a glimpse into the fascinating geological history of the region.

Goblin Valley State Park Utah

Goblin Valley State Park is a state park of Utah, in the United States. The park features thousands of hoodoos, referred to locally as goblins, which are formations of mushroom-shaped rock pinnacles, some as tall as several yards (meters). The distinct shapes of these rocks result from an erosion-resistant layer of rock atop relatively softer sandstone. Goblin Valley State Park and Bryce Canyon National Park, also in Utah about 190 miles (310 km) to the southwest, contain some of the largest occurrences of hoodoos in the world.

The park lies within the San Rafael Desert on the southeastern edge of the San Rafael Swell, north of the Henry Mountains. Utah State Route 24 passes about four miles (6.4 km) east of the park. Hanksville lies 12 miles (19 km) to the south.

Nature's sculptures in the Entrada mud- and sandstone in southeastern Utah

We explored Goblin Valley State Park, three square miles of twisted hoodoos formed of highly eroded Entrada Sandstone. The hoodoo Wilbur is standing by looks somewhat like a camel with a high saddle. I don't think it would be a good idea to try and ride it! For one thing, that's illegal, and for another, these hoodoos are very fragile and would likely fall apart.

This formation was pretty cool there all alone out in the landscape ... and interesting how varied it looked depending on the angle captured. Four different views.

I love shooting the Milkyway. This image was captured in Goblin Valley Utah in the Spring of 2019. We are getting close to this year's season.

2-Z-96 lights on a small stand were used

1 - The light used for the area in front of the camera was bounced off rocks behind me for a softer light

2- The 2nd light was direct light to the right of the scene to create shadows and highlights for contrast.

Hey everyone! Here's my third entry to the CCC this year. The Goblin Realm returns! This is a sequel build to this one from last year. I'd been dying to use these colors again, especially since I'd gotten some more yellowish green and medium lime parts in the last year. That being said, I still pretty much ran out of both colors. :P Overall I'm pretty happy with how this build turned out. Let me know what you think!

All glory to my Savior Jesus Christ!

At Goblin Valley State Park in Utah hundreds of sandstone formations are spread out over four acres. This one appears quite pleased with himself in his brilliant sunset colors.
