This "little" glutton was constantly behind the diver.... he knew what he wanted and was out to get it.
This also may explain why he was sooooooo huge!
who, me? Well friends, it seems that only a few days after Max's passing and I am suddenly about to do "rehab" on these two.
They were turned in to rescue yesterday by a man who was going to have them put down otherwise. They've been living outdoors for 3 years with a rottweiler and have been liberally fed table scraps in the meantime. As you can see they are both a bit oversized! They hadn't probably EVER been bathed, he said they are 10 years old but I think they are younger. UPDATE: they really are 10 and 11 respectively. Dodger is in great shape for a dog his age. He needs to lose about 4 KG while poor elmer has to lose at least 7 KG.
The b/t is Dodger, the wild boar WAS named "Buddy" but since he doesn't know his own name (neither does) and I have a habit of calling my dogs "Buddy" all the time I think I am going to call him either Elmer or Benny.
I am hoping I can get them into decent "adoptable" shape pretty quickly. I just can't have 3 dogs!
Poor Elmer is really shy and SO fat he can hardly move. Dodger is much more outgoing, to the point of being slightly annoying already!

At a TEDx salon, attendees watch TED Talks, listen to speakers, and have discussions about the talks they witnessed. Salons re-engage the audience in the presentation model through the critical element of lively discussions, allowing attendees to actively participate in the event and shape the conversation.
Dr. Driscoll summarizes his presentation, “This salon explored the nature of the global food system and how current agricultural and food industry practices are unsustainable in both an ecological and a distributive sense.” The salon also included TED videos by Tristram Stuart and Dan Barber. Driscoll continues, “Themes we explored included the amount of food being wasted by our current system, the ecological footprint associated with Western diets, issues of food justice, and problems with agricultural illiteracy. We finished with a discussion of possible alternative models to the current food system that exist at both the local and global levels. We discussed how we as individuals can help foster environmentally sustainable food systems that provide healthy, affordable food for all”
