Last shot from my Liverpool trip. Offering it up for Street Crit despite telling myself I was on hiatus. Couldn't keep away. Glutton for punishment.

This shot just happened whilst I was waiting around for a different idea to pan out. This wall (off Bold Street in Liverpool) provides a great background, but I never quite got the right passerby in frame to give the image a hook. Then, suddenly, here he is.

This'll be my last upload for a while. Ending on a relatively high note, I think. Been saving this shot. Next time I'm here hopefully I'll have some decent shots from Istanbul to share.

Fuji X100s, JPEG adjusted in Lightroom. Once again, I edited the RAW and tweaked it to my liking, but when I compared it to the JPEG it just didn't quite stand up. Added a dab of contrast to the JPEG and it was good to go. Hard to beat the Fuji JPEG engine.

A few of the macbook pros and iPads at the Phoot Camp mansion. Seriously, that wasn't even all of them.

The third in my "Seven Deadly Sins" series. Enjoy. . .but not too much. You wouldn't want to be a glutton.

Georg Emanuel Opiz (4 April 1775, Prague - 12 July 1841, Leipzig) was a Bohemian German painter and graphic artist. He also wrote some now-forgotten historical novels, under the pseudonym "Bohemus".

His father, Johann Ferdinand Opiz (1741–1812), was a tax official who also worked as a writer and magazine editor, and carried on a correspondence with Giacomo Casanova.[1] His mother, Louise Philippine, was a great niece of the explorer, Engelbert Kaempfer. His brother was the botanist, Philipp Maximilian Opiz.

The Glutton

After completing his secondary education in Prague, he took a law degree, while studying drawing and painting in his spare time. In 1793, he continued those studies at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts, where his primary instructor was Giovanni Battista Casanova, Giacomo's brother.

In 1798, he made his living by painting the wealthy guests at the spa in Karlsbad. Around 1800, he was in Hamburg and Bremen then, from 1801 to 1803, in Vienna. It was there he created his Scenes from the Street and Folk Life of Franciscan Vienna (a reference to Emperor Francis I). Some of these were made into etchings by Kilian Ponheimer [de], among others, and established his reputation as a genre artist. His style was influenced by William Hogarth and Daniel Chodowiecki.[2]

In 1805, he and his wife settled in Leipzig, where he produced portrait miniatures. In 1814, following the War of the Sixth Coalition, he went to Paris to create and sell etchings related to the Coalition's victory. He apparently remained there until 1817, when he returned to Leipzig and created a series of etchings on life in Paris, published by F. A. Brockhaus. From 1818 to 1830, he worked as an engraver for the magazine Urania, also published by Brockhaus. Numerous erotic etchings have been attributed to him.

His major publication, Character Scenes from Life in Paris, with twenty-four colored etchings, appeared in 1819. During the 1820s, he produced watercolors which suggest that he visited Russia and the Ottoman Empire. In the latter part of the 1820s, he became a Professor at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig. During this period, his well-known Leipziger Messe Scenes were published in Dresden.

This cute little wolverine can be found at Nordens Ark.

Sarvabhaksa was a man with an enormous appetite. One day, his appetite overreached his ability to fill it. In despair, he retreated to a cave to bemoan his obsession with food. The guru Saraha found him and asked what caused his distress. He then told his tale to Saraha of which the guru asked what will happen if he reborn as a hungry ghost, and gave further explanation about beings of that realm.

The glutton was shaken, so he prostrated himself before Saraha and begged the guru to teach him a way to release. So the guru initiated his disciple into the path of Bhusuku and gave him instructions. The glutton practiced with great devotion, and through the advice of his guru to visualize everything he eat as absolute nothingness, he understood the indentical nature of appearances and emptiness, and thus attained his goal.

After 15 years of practice, he attained mahamudra-siddhi. For 600 years thereafter he served humanity with compassion and generosity. Accompanied by a thousand disciples he entered the Paradise of the Dakinis.

Pracovníci Komunitních prací Liberec získaly nového pomocníka při každodenním čištění města. Plně elektrický komunální vysavač Glutton s vlastním pojezdem dokáže efektivně a zároveň bezhlučně odstraňovat odpadky jako plechovky, skleněné lahve, pet lahve, nedopalky či psí exkrementy. Přístroj, který už v České republice využívá zhruba 40 měst, vyšel na 420 000 korun bez DPH.

I took these awhile back and decided to show you Peanut (aka the "little piggy", or the "glutton" ) in action. Here he is trying to figure out how to get two peanuts picked up to go stash in the pot with some of his others.

These are just for fun so didn't try cropping out sandal or anything. I hope they give you a bit of a laugh today. ;o)

La Goulue (the Glutton) was the star of the Moulin Rouge - a star of the French Cancan. She was called "the Glutton" because she liked to drink a lot. She died at 63 years old, very poor.....

La Goulue était la star du Moulin Rouge (French Cancan). On l'appelait ainsi car elle aimait beaucoup boire. Elle est morte à 63 ans dans la misère.

An obese man... a disgusting man who could barely stand up; a man who if you saw him on the street, you'd point him out to your friends so that they could join you in mocking him; a man, who if you saw him while you were eating, you wouldn't be able to finish your meal.

Still not got back to my 365 yet but the current theme seemed very interesting so thought I will give it a go

The quote is from one of my all time favourite movies which is connected to the theme (no points for guessing though - too easy)

Did you know i fucking LOVE apple danishes.

Look at this bastard. A big big disappoinment when i took this bugger out the bag.

Looks like some wanker sat on the bastard, FUCK!

There are 3 things people should not fuck with:

A mans woman,

A mans money,

A mans car.

I have none of the above, so the rule DONT FUCK WITH TEDS APPLE DANISH applies 3 times.

Yes, ladies you read right, Fat Bastard Bovis is single i know you are having a fucking hard time imagining why.

Back in the day, Quisp and Quake breakfast cereal included a real... as in, real tiny... comic book "in each specially marked box."

At least in my neighborhood store, the Plenty of Glutton title was the most common, followed by Kite Tale, then Lava Come Back. I'm not sure how many different titles were offered... but I'm sure the interwebz can answer that question, hang on a sec... ... ... okay, believe it or don't, I was unable to find a definitive source of information, but from what I can tell, Plenty of Glutton, Lava Come Back, and Kite Tale seem to be the only titles mentioned across various web pages. As in my experience, Glutton seems to be the most common, followed by Kite Tale.

The Quisp and Quake characters were designed by Jay Ward studios, creators of Bullwinkle and Rocky.

The very challenging checkout! Have to have another go sometime: Here's a poem I wrote about a while back about another checkout called "Qualified assistant":

-...the glutton through slits and pavements sees only his skeleton....

Beep beep beep beep beep beep another item scanned beep beep

and the next person arrives beep beep beep beep

the badge that reads Qualified Assistant

like a cheap chinese imitation

air hostess badges that summon up the glory of the 70's like luxury and cigerette smoke and beautifull legs and hairdo's and wings

and hope

and optimism

all beeped throught he machine maeaning nothing more than another beep not worth more than the materials its made up of all left to beep another day for no real reason except to eat like a badge we pin upon the best person

beeped into existence

like an advert for clothing

l;ike feeling good for the wrong reasons

like falling in a dream

for some resaon to stand there before us drumming the beeps into the next moment

standing before as she was previously nothing changed in the moment of "hello" like an imagined existence like a shoe found in a ditch like a glove left on a wall beeped away with a credit card

forgotten with a wail of the child

left like a plastic packet torn on a barbed wire fence

nothing more than a beep in the big bang.
